PHL - Anyone been to Le Virtu yet?

Ate there last night. The food was very good, and the service problems may have been fixed. There were plenty of pleasant servers. Frederico is a master of obscure Italian wines. He would have more unusual wines but for the PLCB...
Ah...the food. The arrancini were very good...yes, it is hard to make them exciting. The timballo was fabulous, with lighter than air crepes, meatballs the size of dimes, good balance of seasoning. The jaded may call it lasagna lite, but it was delicious. The porchetta was unbelievable. It was a special, and I had to arm wrestle a server for it...he wanted more for himself. Good reason...the flavor...all sage, garlic, pepper, etc. Served with an arugula salad. Rustic and flavorful. Huge portion too. I will be eager to taste "le virtu" in May!

BYOB in Montco

I will never understand From the Boot and the lines of people waiting to get in. It is noisy, messy, the food varies from mundane to acceptable, and the prices are so-so. Must be the portion size. I live about two minutes from there, and have eaten there only four times since it has been open. Not a fave by any stretch.
