Hawaiian Sweet Bread dinner rolls recipe

I love the King's brand of Hawaiian sweet bread rolls. I have tried numerous recipes for Hawaiian sweet bread, but nothing comes close. Would someone, perhaps Father Kitchen ,post a tried and true rendition of this delicious flakey and sweet bread?

How do you store your family recipes?

I had my recipes in labeled file folders in a file cabinet. I now use a program and I print the recipes like a cookbook. Neat and tidy!

Sourdough starter forgot to add flour

I made a starter for sourdough using yeast and water and have left it out on the counter for 3 days, only to discover I hadn't put the flour in it. Do I dump it or add flour to it?

Kefir cheese in hummus?

My mistake! I have a recipe called "Mediterranean Dip" that has EVOO, garlic, ground cumin, chick-peas,salt, fresh lemon juice and yogurt . No mention of tahini...I don't like it anyway.

Barbecue sauce made with strawberries

I finally found Satchmo's House of BBQ! I met Don and he is a wonderful person. His BBQ is the best! I really liked the BBQ beans and the collard greens, and the peach cobbler is heavenly. I can't wait to go again!

Red syrup?

When I was a kid, I had a chocolate chip cookie made by a gal from South Carolina, that cookie was so sweet. She used some type of red syrup. Can anyone tell me what it is and maybe a cookie recipe to go along.

Stupid baking/cooking mishaps? Share, laugh, and learn

I made a pineapple up-side-down cake, using some flour left-over from the bag. As it cooked, the air in the kitchen filled with a savory garlicy onion scent. The first bite of cake was when I then realized that it was not something burning from a spill-over in my oven, bu that I had used the seasoned fried-chicken flour instead of plain. YUCK!

Pompadore bakery

This bakery has the best tasting and truly fresh baked goods. It really tastes like pure sugar, not corn syrup. I would like to know who is similar in California.

Frozen salad dressing

My neighbor moved and gave me two bottles of store-bought,un-opened dressing that she had frozen, saying that they are still good. Now that I've de-frosted them, they look separated and my sister-in-law says to toss them. Anyone have any info on this subject?

How do you nacho?

The best nachos are made with a very 'wet' shredded beef, Mexican jack cheese, guacamole, refried beans, sour cream and green onions. Broiled, of course.
