Are there good/bad sushi days in NYC in terms of fish freshness?
most sushi places stock up for the weekend on fridays since not much is available to them sat/sun. therefore i eat sushi on fridays.
Upper East Side- Need upscale Italian restaurant that also serves pizza
ate there a few nights ago and even though the staff greatly out numbered the customers, it took more than 10 minutes for me to get any service and the poor service continued throughout the meal. the meal itself was equally bad

caterer for sweet sixteen
often use caterers and lately i stick with a company called decanter (decanterltd.com). very creative, reasonable and high quality food and service. they will customize the job to your requirements.
Urgent help! Need a FANTASTIC caterer ASAP.
have hired caterers for numerous occasions, and after many disappointments i've been sticking with decanter ltd.(www.decanterltd.com). consistent quality of service, great food and easy to work with.

Salon Pio Pio
sipan and pio pio have the same owners - basically the same restaurant with a slightly different menu. the name change was an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of pio pio in queens since sipan was doing poorly (with good reason).
New Latin Places in Inwood

live there and and get devine inspirations every so often to again ask, what's happening??? tired of spending more on taxis to get away from here than the cost of my meal.
butcher steaks
for years (many) i've gone to opprnheimer's butchers on the uws for quality meat. recently their meat is beginning to resemble what i imagine supermarket meat quality would be. where do i go to for top quality??
Washington Heights / 181 St. and Broadway area
"walk 30 minutes in any direction." your best walk for good food is, unfortunately, to the subway (not the fast food one). lived here 17 years, great neighborhood - except for food. you'll be entertained by trying restaurants for a while, but if you want and appreciate quality food (not necessarily meaning expensive) you've got to go. by the way, it's still worth living here, even without the food.
LOBSTERS - where in nyc?
HATE TO GIVE THIS ONE AWAY BUT best deal on the best tasting lobster happens on monday nights at mo's caribbean on second ave and 76 st. pound and a quater for $10 dollars (not a typo). all their lobsters are boiled in the same boiling water so it's really like cooking them in a lobster broth.
