scones, where do you buy the most delicious ones? As a former baker I can tell you that Petsi Pies makes the absolute best. Quality ingredients, made on site, always fresh. ----- |

So what is the best chocolate in Harvard Square area? |

The Ebisuya Japanese Market on Riverside Ave in Medford Square is open. Fresh produce, sashimi grade tuna, salmon, octopus. Fried fish cakes. All types of noodle, candies and sweets. Prices are also very reasonable. |

Best recs for a decent, sit-down lunch $10 or less anywhere on the T. Any ideas? |

Phantom Gourmet's Food Festival - is it worth the $40? If you want to be ripped off, bored, frustrated, unhappy, and have nothing to do with good food then go right ahead and go. It's a wortless sham. |

Spaetzle [moved from Boston board] thanks everyone. I had no idea that my query would get such a rersponse! I will definitely go with making my own and think I will use the colander method idea. Seems to work well. |

Spaetzle [moved from Boston board] Any ideas where I can get spaetzle in the Medford area for an Oktoberfest dinner? [NOTE: Since this discussion turned into a very informative discussion on how to make your own spaetzle, we've moved it from the Boston board to the Home Cooking board, where more hounds can participate and benefit from the discussion -- THE CHOWHOUND TEAM] |

The only thing to use is Monin Raspberry Syrup. You can get it at Cardullo's in Harvard Square or Formaggio Kitchen. |

Green Tomato II on the other side of Davis (formerly Carberry's) would be ideal and NO wait. Give them a call. The food is great, the price is a GREAT value and they would even possibly give you your own special seating area. |

Is it open yet? |

Thanks tons! Sounds like everything is up to par and I love that corridor walk idea. I am all for the open kitchen concept! |

Superb restaurants beyond the Boston area I am going to suggest a hidden gem just outside the city, with parking, superb food and about the same price range (NOT inexpensive) and that is Il Faro in Medford, Italian cuisine. It is all fresh made on the premises pasta and uses great sources for meats and seafood. The reviews are consistently excellent. |

I just got them last week at The Porter Exchange in Porter Square Cambridge. There is an Asian food store there, I forget the name. Just ask any clerk there for them. They are all very helpful. A mini carton of 8 egges was like $1.99 |

Best Boulangerie in Boston/Cambridge? I would recommend the Danish Pastry House for authentic european pastries. Their locations in Watertown and Medford may be closer. They may not be French but they are always fresh and excellent and made more to european standards than American (i.e., higher butter fat content, etc.) |

Finally found this today in, of all places, Stop and Shop! Since Trader Joe's lost their source I have been doing without. Hope this helps all the others looking. |

Wasn't it great? It is DEFINITELY one of the greatest values for RW. It's usually beyond my budget but I loved it here. I had the exact same thing for lunch only $20.08. I also like the chic sort of euro vibe in this place. Last year we did Henrietta's Table for RW also a great bargain as you order off the regular menu (no prix fixe deal) BUT you pay the RW price!! That was an awesome buy-three courses off the regular menu for $33.08!! Not sure about this year though. |

Went to dante in Cambridge yesterday for the RW lunch and it is truly great. The antipasto is both a work of art and the best of ingredients, the place is chic, the service great and the view a great cure for your Spring Fever. The restaurant is quite expensive so it's also a great value. The hangar steak was quite good and the panna cotta dessert is fabulous. |

I know there has been a fairly recent post on this but I can't find it. Anyone have a good source for white truffle oil in the Medford/Somerville area. I have used the oil from Trader Joe's in the past and found it acceptable and very reasonably priced but don't see it there any more. Thanks! |

Finding Cadbury Flake candy bar in Boston area? I love Flake but Maltesers are my favorites. Cardullo's has Maltesers and I actually just bought Maltesers at Shaws-in the inetrnational aisle. I am dying to know what a 99 is though! |

Any suggestions for a source for quail eggs in the Boston area for use in an amuse bouche I am preparing? |

Which ice cream cone do you go out of your way for? Also LOVE the malted vanilla. Herrel's is my choice. I use it to make my own ice cream sandwiches out of cake-like brownies flattened with a rolling pin. |
