the area you're going to be staying in is very expensive for restaurants, but if you're willing to go to 8th or 9th avenue, you'll find some really good but less expensive mostly ethnic places. Sacco's (54th & 9th) is a great pizza place. NYC pizza is the best in the world. Another shouldn't miss dining experience is the neighborhood diner. Afghan Kebab House is really good (9th between 51st and 52nd), Blockheads is a good burrito place (50th between 8th and 9th). Check out menupages.com. You can pinpoint the area, more or less, and find more places
