Las Vegas Steak?

At those prices they're about the same as Wagyu.

Las Vegas Steak?

They don't want to work with tourists? Well screw them! They can stay in New York-they think no tourists go to their restaurants there? What difference is it to them? People in Vegas tend to tip generously, and the volume is extremely high! They must not like money.

Guy Savoy pre-theater menu?

I look forward to your reply. I might want to try them when I go in Oct or Nov.

Guy Savoy pre-theater menu?

Anyone had this? I'm wondering if it's a meal or is it like a taste?

Vegas Bacherlotte Party (mine!)

Enoteca San Marco, Mario Batali's more casual place at the Venetian, would be perfect! Easy to stay on budget, and it's an 'outdoor' cafe in the Venetian.

Las Vegas Steak?

I can't imagine it would be bad, after all, you can order pasta as an ap or to share!

Farewell to Minnesota tour

Cosmos, Chambers Kitchen, Tea House, Manny's Steakhouse, Hell's Kitchen

Jean Georges or Daniel?

Wondering which people prefer

Best Indian food-Downtown Minneapolis

My Dad is going to be visiting for my 40th birthday in a week. He'll be staying at the Graves hotel in downtown Minneapolis, and we both love Indian food. I'd like to find some really good Indian food downtown. Any help appreciated.

Best Appetizers in Vegas

Nobhill at MGM has great apps, I love their Green Goddess Salad, and they have the best cocktails in Vegas, if you go you have to try the Mojito.

Also, Bradley Ogden at Caesars had the best soup I have ever had, a lobster corn chowder with bacon...wow, it was heavenly! They have nice bar/lounge seating if the restaurant is crowded.

Nice Dinner in Vegas / Near Mandalay Bay

Second Stripsteak...I'm a fan of Michael Mina's restaurants, and Stripsteak offers a great variety of sides, nice seafood choices and the best steaks you will ever have.

My 40th (in March)-Cosmos, Sanctuary, Chambers Kitchen, or Restaurant Alma - MSP

Thanks! My dad is going to be staying at the Graves, and the show isn't that far away so time I don't think would be an issue. We'd probably start at 5:30 or so.

I had the tasting menu at Cosmos 3 years ago and loved it, but I haven't been there since the new chef started. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

My 40th (in March)-Cosmos, Sanctuary, Chambers Kitchen, or Restaurant Alma - MSP

My dad is going to be visiting me and my wife next month. On my 40th birthday we're going to see a show at the Guthrie, and I'd like to go to one of these places. It's been a while since I was at Cosmos, and I have only had lunch at Chambers Kitchen. If anyone could offer advice on which to choose, it would be much appreciated.

SteakHouse in Las Vegas...

I've been to Prime and I think you're way off base. We were treated like VIP's and we we're not. We were waiting for a table overlooking the fountains, when a party took longer than expected, they seated us and then gave us seating on the patio for dessert as 'compensation.' We were led past people in Armani suits behind a velvet rope to the patio. So I don't know what you're referring to about needing to be a "VIP," as you left us no specifics, but I didn't see any of that.

Solo Dining In Vegas

I've solo dined at Bradley Ogden. It's like they went out of their way to make sure I was having a good time, very good service, and the food is spectacular. It's one of those places that puts a lot of thought into the taste and texture of foods as they mingle in a dish.

Vegas Birthday Dinner

Your original two are excellent picks, I wouldn't change a thing.

If you're looking for something on another night, Bradley Ogden is amazing! Very flavorful, great presentation, a place I left very satisfied.

Best place for abalone on the Strip?

Looking for the best place for abalone on the Strip. I seem to remember Wing Lei doing an abalone tasting menu, does anyone know if anyone does one?

Review-Crooked Spoon Cafe, Grand Marais, MN. Best food in Minnesota!

Wow!!

I saw reviews of it on tripadvisor.com that were good, but I wasn't expecting this kind of good. I had Ahi Tuna Tataki to start, absolutely flawless, Perfectly prepared tuna of the highest quality, seared just right, and the dipping sauce was excellent. As good as the tuna tartare at Aqua. I had scallops, easily the best scallops I have ever had. I didn't write any of this down, but it was memorable. Little dots of flavored butter on each scallop, on a bed of crab risotto.

This place is absolutely amazing, it was better than La Belle Vie. Highly recommended.

Great food in proximity to Statue of Liberty

Eh, I guess it's all close relatively speaking

Great food in proximity to Statue of Liberty

I have a friend who is going to be in Manhattan in a couple weeks and she and her sister plan to see the Statue of Liberty and would like to know what would be reasonably close. Not necessarily walking distance but a short cab ride. Something like Grammercy Tavern, Daniel, of that caliber.

Where to send my parents for great Vegas Dinner?

Bradley Ogden would be perfect. Very quiet, relaxing atmosphere, great service, and amazing food! Definitely a "something for everyone" place as far as the food goes.

Vegas Hotel Restaurants

I'd probably choose MGM cause I already loved the atmosphere and lineup of restaurants before Robuchon's places opened up. I've heard so many good things about both places on egullet.com, and I like Mina's food, Fiamma was a great experience, and Emeril's has fantastic lobster. Caesar's would be second for me cause I really like Bradley Ogden, and I want to try Guy Savoy, Mesa Grill is a fun place with good food.

Buffet-MGM Detroit-excellent!

It kinda tides me over till I can get back to Vegas. It's not like Mandalay or the Paris, but it's pretty good. Mina's restaurants are spectacular looking, imho they look as good as anything in Vegas.

Buffet-MGM Detroit-excellent!

I hear ya...the one time I went to the Motor City Casino, it was dirty. Dirty carpets. Nowhere to eat cept the buffet. I see no reason to ever go there again. MGM Detroit made me feel like I was in Vegas! Cannot wait to try Saltwater and Bourbon Steak!

Buffet-MGM Detroit-excellent!

Had lunch at the MGM buffet Tuesday, fantastic(even better that it came from winnings)! By far the best lunch buffet I've ever had! Everything I had was good. I had Mongolian barbeque-shrimp and veggies, asian sauce. Very good, shrimp done just right. Lamb chops were also done perfectly, not overdone like many expensive buffets do. Even mac n cheese was wonderful, very creamy and good! The selections of Chinese food were all top notch, as good as anything I've ordered in a Chinese restaurant, kept at right temps and not sitting for long. Scallops in black bean sauce was great! Large, tender scallops. Even salads were great, which I usually avoid in buffets. Frisee salad had this wonderful crispy proscuitto on top, like the crispiest, yummiest bacon! Mozarella and tomato salad also excellent, and they had selections of artisan cheeses and charcuterie(sp) meats, it was gourmet all the way, and the desserts! WOW! First time I even remember thinking "mmmmmmmm" at a buffet. Best gelato I've ever had, little Key Lime tart had flaky, buttery crust, chocolate mousse was very chocolatey and rich, it was all good, I would definitely go back for dinner if lunch was this good. On par if not better than the buffet at the Bellagio.

I wasn't able to get away at dinnertime, so Saltwater or Bourbon Steak will have to wait until next month. But they are two of the most gorgeous restaurants I have ever seen! As nice as anything I have seen in Vegas or New York. Puck's grille was also beautiful.

MSP - Help me find a butcher!!

Thanks! I've been wondering about this, cause I moved to the MSP area from Ann Arbor, MI, and good meat and produce in that much smaller area was very easy to find. Seems more like a quest around MSP.

MSP-La Belle Vie or Chambers Kitchen?

Ugh! I gotta disagree, they aren't in the same league as either Mina or Ogden. Even the courses that were good weren't 'wow' good. I've had serious 'wow' moments at Ogden and Mina. Anyway, I'm going to be in Michigan next week, will go to either Saltwater or Bourbon Steak, Mina's two new restaurants at the MGM in Detroit.

MSP-La Belle Vie or Chambers Kitchen?

The Lemon Ricotta hotcakes at Hell's Kitchen are heavenly! I think they put addictive chemicals in them.

MSP-La Belle Vie or Chambers Kitchen?

La Belle Vie was disappointing. Out of four courses, only one was a home run(pasta) one was good but not 'wow' (dourade) duck was so tough I couldn't cut it with the provided knife and had to get a steak knife from the server, and the dessert was terrible...a trio, white chocolate ganache which was good, a little flourless chocolate cake which was bland and a little molten chocolate cake which was horrible, tasted like something out of an Easy Bake oven. A piece of flavorless fluff. After all the reviews here, I expected something that would blow me away, something worthy of a Michelin star, something on par with Spring in Chicago, Bradley Ogden or Michael Mina in Vegas, and NOT EVEN CLOSE. Nowhere in the league of those places. A place like that shouldn't have such poor execution on two seperate dishes.

Chambers Kitchen at lunch was much better than La Belle Vie, will have to try Chambers for dinner.

Vegas Restaurant Ideas - 2.5 days, picky eaters from NYC!

For steak, Prime at Bellagio was wonderful! And there's the view! I've heard Michael Mina's Stripsteak at mandalay Bay is one of the best in town, it's new since the last time I was in Vegas.
