Sigh. Does anyone know when this place will re-open?

Olive oil tasting farm/tour in Florence

Hi David,
I did see that but it seems like that post is about visiting stores and tasting oils. I would like to visit an agritourism/ farm where I can see the press and maybe have lunch there as well.as a tasting.

Olive oil tasting farm/tour in Florence

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for an olive oil tasting farm I could go to in or near Florence. I don't have a car, so I'm looking for something as close as possible. This is the one I think I might go with: http://www.san-vito.com but I'd love to hear some suggestions!

Good eats near Hotel Riviera (8th)

Thank you! Wow, the 17th. I was way off.

What can you bring into Canada?

Thank you!

What can you bring into Canada?

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the right board, but I live in Toronto and I'm going to Europe next week.
I want to know: Can I bring back cured meats and breads? Do I have to declare what I have?
I know I can bring hard cheeses (right?) but what about mozzarella? Has anyone brought back some of these things into Canada?

Thank you!

Good eats near Hotel Riviera (8th)

Hi everyone,

I'm staying at Hotel Riviera (55 rue des Acacias) and I'm looking for some recommendations.

I'd like to hear about some places to eat breakfast, bakeries and lunch spots.

We're on a tight budget, but if the resto is amazing I'll consider it!

Thank you!

cheap breakfast in downtown core?

Hi!
Tomorrow morning I am going downtown and would like to grab a cheap but GOOD breakfast downtown. Does anyone have any breakfast specials that are $5 or less? Just a basic breakfast, toast, eggs, homefries?

Fairmont Bagel and St.Viateur

oh that's great. cheaper than new york, where it was like $9. o_o

Fairmont Bagel and St.Viateur

also, how much is it for a dozen bagels at each location? I've been looking but can't quite find a price.

Fairmont Bagel and St.Viateur

Fairmont Bagel and St.Viateur

I have two days left in Montreal, and I still haven't tried the bagels!
I want to go there, but I am dependant on public transportation, and it seems super far
away from a subway or anything.

Can someone please tell me clear directions to get to both of these places?
I think that they are fairly close to each other, and I would hate to go back to Toronto without trying either.

I am leaving from the central bus station, [Station Centrale?]

Sorry if this is off topic!

Montreal Food not to be missed?

Hi everyone!
I'm heading to Montreal this weekend, and I'm excited to try delicious food.
I already heard that some of the best bagels are at Fairmount.

I would love to find a delicious patisserie, an excellent poutine, yummy cupcakes and good pizza.

It would be great if these were near Station Centrale d'Autobus Montreal. If not, that's okay! I'm willing to travel. Someone told me that they found really good homemade pizza for $1 a slice near the bus station. Does anyone know the name of this place?

I'm also missing samosas...are there any good ones in Montreal?

Thanks!

a truly vegetarian Jamaican patty.

hi!
I am having a hard time finding a supplier for a vegetarian patty. Most companies supply vegetarian patties, but the dirty secret is that there is beef paste [ suet ] in the crust.

Does anyone know a company that makes patties that are entirely vegetarian?

Thanks!

Jaaadu or Amaya's Bread Bar?

Hi! I'm trying to decide where to take my mother for Winterlicious. I found that Jaaadu uses high quality ingredients, and I liked that they have a lot of variety on their menu.
However, I know that Amaya's Bread Bar is supposed to be really good. The menu is more expensive and has less selection. We aren't all ordering from the Winterlicious Menu.
Which would you recommend?

pretty harborfront restaurant?

thanks guys.
that Niagara street cafe is more along the lines of what I'm looking for.
the harbourfront rink is supposed to have opened on nov.15th.

pretty harborfront restaurant?

I am trying to find a nice place to eat dinner in harbourfront for my birthday.

I would like a place that is dark lit with candles, kind of like the nose in leslieville, or a queen street restaurant...aesthetically pleasing with good food.

I need it to be in harbourfront because after I am planning to go skating.

If you know of any nice restaurants that are also near open rinks, that would be great.

thanks!

Samosas to go

I went to ghazalis today and the samosas were great! the beef one was fresh and crisp and flavourful. the veggie one was microwaved, and that made me sad because it wasn't crisp anymore, but it tasted amazing!
