Blue Water Seafood - Red Bank

Avoid at all costs! This restaurant is terrible and the fish looks like it came out of the nearby Foodtown seafood case. Unappetizing...pretentious atmosphere makes the place an honest joke.

Dish ~ Red Bank

Mark, Happy you loved Dish. I dine there weekly and never, ever have been disappointed. The service is friendly and attentive without being over the top. The entrees are always FRESH, made with quality ingredients, and the desserts are to die for. I never pass up the coconut cake; the the waitress is nice enough to pack half of it for me to eat for breakfast the next day! No better buy in the Red Bank area and the Prix Fixe offerings are done extremely well with no skimping.

Best place for dinner in Red Bank?

Happy you enjoyed Dish. I was there on the 31st, the last day for prix-fixe for the month of March. It was loaded with locals and both the food portions and quality remain consistent. The waitresses work very hard and manage to stay pleasant....can someone tell me it they take donation dishes? Everytime I go, there are more and more on the walls. I have a few I'd like to unload :)

The Old Bridge location...my daughter in North Brunswick said the one there has also suffered over the past year.

This place has seriously gone downhill. Avoid at all costs. Food is of poor quality -place is overall dirty/greasy.. Went for Sunday Brunch and it was disastrous.

Island Palm, Spring Lake is Closed

IP ran hot and cold...when empty, the food was just okay...when busy, the help always seemed very flustered and the wait was just way too long. ....the BYOB option was great, though. All in all, the place won't be missed too much. Spring Lake center needs a super restaurant that would cater to the 'beachy' breakfast and lunch crowd.

Saturday Brunch or Breakfast

For a casual, get-out-quick breakfast, try Mumford's in Tinton Falls. They have huge breakfast menu at very affordable prices. If you're looking for something a little more elegant and unrushed, try the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank. Either way, enjoy yourself!

Rehearsal Dinner - Red Bank

Lanie, Sorry for my silly/dumb post. Try Torcello's for Italian fare and a serene, clean atmosphere. Great appetizers and soups...authentic, quality food. Dinners, however can run somewhat hot and cold depending upon what you order. The owners (husband, wife) are always milling around and will even take your special requests to the chef, so the menu is truly all encompassing. You are never hurried or rushed. Plus, it's a BYOB, so you may bring your fav wine.

Would Love To Hear From You: Mc Loone's in Sea Bright A Wedding Venue???

My daughter and fiance are planning their wedding and have decided on McLoone's. My husband and I are sharing the bill. Have you been there lately? Have you been a guest at a party/wedding there? My own experience is that the place could use a facelift and the luncheon entrees are way overpriced. Help!

Rehearsal Dinner - Red Bank

Try the Molly Pitcher bar for a lovely romatic vibe. The waiters are great and the bar menu is affordable and delicious. Especially nice on a Sunday afternoon...I'd skip the humongous buffet any day for a lovely bar table.

Doris and Ed's Reborn?

Take a chance and try out the prix fixe menu. Excellent quality and service. Came on a Sunday afternoon; had a peaceful, serene, perfect lunch. You get what you pay for here. If you love fine dining in a traditional atmosphere, D & Eds always satisfies. Jim the owner is everpresent; if you have any issues, let him know and you will be well taken care of.

Zoe an American Bistro Little Silver NJ

Zoe is surprisingly good. Try the lunch prix-fixe at $9.95 and you won't be disappointed. Service is slow, but business is booming, so perhaps they should hire a few more people to serve. Lunch will include a soup/salad/appetizer plus a sandwich and drink. Nice ambiance; basically a glorified version of the Turning Point.

Restaurant Nicholas Disappoints and Under-Delivers

My husband decided to surprise me with a dinner at Nicholas. We are in the area and have always wondered about the overall quality of the restaurant. Well, in a word, or two or three, save your money!!! The servers are pretentious, overall trying too hard. We sat at a table and were staffed by about 10 people all moving back and forth at lightning speed. I was utterly exhaused watching everyone run around. Not romantic, not anything but overpriced. My husband tried to make a joke and everyone was stonefaced...(the joke was actually appropriate), obvious certain people get certain (quieter) tables. The bar looked like it might have some promise. Try the Fromagerie for fine dining and an overall elegant experience.

Belford Bistro (Belford NJ)

If you chose this place often, it can be a tad boring as the menus don't change. yes, the waitstaff is deligtful, but the 'older' hostess can be somewhat 'rough' and standoffish. Please make a reservation; othewise you will be frowned upon. Value for the dollar is good and the seafood is always fresh. You will be rushed if you make an early reservation...aim for 6:30 or later for a better paced meal.

garbage food of low quality...terrible service, avoid at all costs and make a pb&j at home...dirty place is a sad excuse for a restaurant in this area.

Langosta Lounge, Asbury Park

Moonstruck continues to offer delicious food of high quality prepared to your liking. Had a party there in the VIP room, dropped $1000. and was totally satisfied. If you're not happy speak up and the owners/managers/waitresses/waiters will fix the problem. Cool coffee and cool soup are my only complaints...overall, always a classy experience.

looking for breakfast, monmouth co.

Right on...was a regular at TP, all locations, but the food is going downhill, the service can be extremely rushed or very slow, no happy medium. Lots of noisy kids (the parents could care less who they are annoying) and cold pancakes were the kiss of death for me! Also, seating is near the bathrooms and the parade of people back and forth is not my idea of a fun breakfast or lunch!!!!

Need a GREAT restaurant at the Jersey Shore?

Moonstruck is chic, pretty serene atmosphere, white tablecloths, etc.. and delicious food. Please try the broiled combo platter....sooooo good! Stella Marina is equally sweet for a party, but the service is young and a little intrusive (went for lunch and they were not busy). My vote is for Moonstruck....BTW, does anyone know if Moonstruck is still offering prix fixe on Wednesdays? Tried calling, but no answer and nothing on the website...I have a bet w/my husband, I say YES and he says NO...thanks so much!

Osteria Dante is no more?

Thought Torcello was fine, nice waitress and owner came over to say hello....the food portions were small, but fresh and nicely prepared. My big complaint, however is that they discontinued their prix fixe pre theater menu and it's STILL ON THE WEBSITE...to me this is a bait and switch ploy that is not appreciated. It is a BYOB spot, try it for lunch and you will likely be pleasantly surprised by the food offerings and the ambiance.

What is your favorite restaurant in Wilmington?

hi supersharpie, my hubby was transferred to wilmington last may...well, in over a year, we've tried lots of restaurants, some memorable, some not so....i found deep blue to be a little pretentious, generally trying to hard to be something special. since the recession has deepened, we were, like you, looking for affordable, clean places with a nice atmosphere and exemplary food....finally we found it! travel 2 miles out of town (rte 52) to greenville, to elizabeths pizza, wait....it's not a pizza joint...its a lovely breezy place with a lovely bar area....catering to the locals, you can get a tremendous lightweight meal, pizza, salads, extras plus the finest beers and wines in the area. you will find the service good, the prices great and the ambiance almost perfect! there is no pushing high priced entrees, drinks or desserts...the locals that frequent the place are generally nicely dressed, civil and just overall nice. there are no wild kids running around....sensuous chandeliers and beautiful artwork...they are open from 11:30 AM til around midnight, so going at any time
is so very convenient. some places to pass, feby's fishery - too homegrown for me, timothy's at the riverwalk - salad's made with iceberg, yuck...the exchange on market - businessmen go there to get drunk after work, food quality is 'diner-like." harry's seafood, riverwalk - too expensive, food quality is nothing special, service is very slow.
sadly, our wilmington stay will soon be over as my hubby will soon be laid off......but go ahead and enjoy yourselves and your dinner...

Zoe an American Bistro Little Silver NJ

Lunches at Zoe are so-so.....okay if you are in the area - check it out for a decent but not memorable lunch....if you are from out of town, the trip just isn't worth it. I noticed the lunch and dinner menu's are very much the same....try the house salad with gorgonzola and the Zoe burger. Prices are reasonable, but i do miss Table (formerly at this location)

What to eat in Colts Neck?

There's an old restaurant (name escapes me) next door to brandywine AL and Delicious Orchards...looks like its been there since the 40s...the decor is something out of my aunt jen's kitchen and the people who frequent the place look to be in their late 70s and 80s....do not eat there! strange old waitresses and re-heated food...just a heads-up

sorry you had a bad experience, shabby...for a decent lunch (if anyone is interested) stick with the Chicken Francaise w/Artichokes...the chicken is pounded paper thin and the lemon sauce is great by my standards and i'm a self confessed food snob.....the atmosphere is no better than an applebees or fridays..no imagination at all. my daughter is no cook and eats at the new brunswick one several times a week and loves it...
