Non-beef "burgers"

Burton's Grill has an excellent salmon burger.

Teresa's of Middleton

Hoohah...Why should I speak to the manager? I have never had a problem at Teresa's and I don't even know the OP with the complaint. Not my issue. LOL!

Teresa's of Middleton

This is a discussion board. I am entitled to my opinion and others are entitled to theirs.

Teresa's of Middleton

I have never experienced a bad attitude. One person's poor experience doesn't necessarily mean it's that way all the time. The place is always busy. That says something. At the same time, I agree that an apology was in order.

Teresa's of Middleton

We live nearby and have been to Teresa'a several times...two of us without reservations. We have never left feeling disappointed. The food (tried several items from menu) has been very good and the service excellent. On the occasions that the wait was long we accepted the suggestion to sit on the bar side. It was comfortable seating at tables or if you chose to, you could sit at the bar. The pizza from the limited menu was delicious!

Sweet Tooth Bakery S Boston

Our daughter who lives in Southie brought my husband a selection of cupcakes instead of a birthday cake. They were not only delicious but artistically beautiful and huge! Each one was very different. Great place! We're now anxious to try other products from there.

Best Pizza on North Shore???

I have to disagree about Monte's. I grew up in Lynn and this was and still is a popular pizza, especially if you favor the thin crust style. The days are long gone now but their mantra used to be..."Monte's Monte's by the sea, buy 2 pizzas, get one free."

Burger Buns to Buy

Do you have a bread machine? I was actually thinking of making dough in my machine and baking my own hamburger buns. Since you are grinding your own meat doing this as well will really impress!

Great Leftover Dinners

Yesterday I cooked too much rice pilaf with peppers and onions along with baked chicken. Tonight I'm turning the rice into a Mexican rice. I'll add cilantro, a little jalapeno and pinto beans. Serve with tortillas, sour cream and shredded cheese, chopped tomato and lettuce and maybe a taco sauce.

Best Frozen ravioli/tortellini?

I like the Pasta Prima spinach and mozzarella raviolis from Costco. Actually they are the best frozen raviolis I have eaten.

Boston "Must-Eat" Recommendations

Well, I know that NYC has great pizza but you should go and compare it to Regina's in the northend.

Black Tip Shark

Just bought some black tip shark steaks. I was thinking of searing in a very hot pan. I may brush with some mashed garlic and sea salt and crushed black pepper. I've never cooked this before. How long to cook? Any ideas?

Christening Celebration Danvers Area

How many people are you talking about? Spinelli's Rt 1 Peabody offers a nice brunch...I think you need at least 50 people but I'm not sure.

Breakfast in Salem MA.

I used to work in the area and Red's was my favorite lunch spot. Haven't had it in a while but the chicken salad is excellent.

Tips for making good gravy.

I add liquid from the veggies, carrots, peas, potato, but my favorite liquid to add is from butternut squash.

Beverly (or Salem) B-Day Dinner - opinions?

I have never been disappointed with Finz at Pickering Wharf.

Theresa's Italian Eatery and Deli

Has anyone tried this place on rt 114 in Middleton? What's good? Do they serve wine/beer?

Back from Italy & 2 questions

Try Christmas Tree Shops (Do you have them in California?) for those pitchers or a dollar store, maybe even Walmart.
My reflux didn't bother me while in Italy either. I attributed it to all the walking we were doing eveyday and night in Florence. Exercise helps with digestion.
Sounds like a fun themed party. I was actually thinking about something like that too, inviting those who traveled with us.

Chopsticks and placemats

Is this for some kind of fund raiser? If so, your local Chinese restaurant may agree to donate the chopsticks and placemats.

What to serve with chili?

Sometimes I make chili and serve it over thin spaghetti with toppings. People love it!

Ideas Needed for Dinner Party: cooking at the table

You could also do paninis if you have a grill.

Poutine on the South Shore!

Late to this thread but i would also be interested if it's poutine rapee.

Free food in Boston?

TV Diner (Billy Costa) had Roger Berkowitz tonight. Apparantly because it's National Soup Month (something like that) Legal Sea Food is giving out free chowder on Jan 15 at certain locations, not all.

The disaster of Christmas dinner...my scalloped potatoes..what went wrong?

I've had this problem before. It happened when I doubled the recipe and cooked in a larger than normal baking dish.

Do sprinkles and other decorations expire?

Thank you all for this thread!! I am about to plan my cookie baking and was planning to throw out some of last years decorations, colored sugar and sprinkles. Yay!...I will use them again.

Where can I find great bagels?

Bagel World....Reading or Danvers
Perfecto's ....Peabody or No Andover

Exotic journey - Cruising 107 Salem to Revere

Where Washington Street meets Western Ave (rt 107) there is a sub shop called Angelina's which has been there for many years, since my childhood as a matter of fact, when I lived in the neighborhood. Although it has been through a couple of different ownerships, the subs are second to none, IMO. I have family and friends who still go there who still live in the neighborhood but also family who live out of state or country who, when visiting, make sure they get their fix of Angelina's. The plain ol' American sub is the best IMO. Something about those very thin sliced pickles..yum...

10 Warning Signs Before You Visit... (moved from Tristate)

Pardon me but I agree with Grubbjunkie. The list also seems pretty arrogant to me.. Also, I personally don't have a problem drinking a good wine out of a Libby glass. I'm just not that fussy.

Red wine cocktails? Or what to do with all this extra red??

I would simply drink it!!! Cork it, drink some every night at dinner. Sure they won't be at their best but I would not have a problem finishing it up. Ok...use some for cooking too.
