Need places for foodies as well as designers.

Thanks.
I think we are going to add B&B to our dinner list and move Mix for drinks instead. We already have a lot of French, so a hearty plate of pasta is good. I also ate at Babbo 2 months ago and loved it and want more.

Have you eaten at CUT or Craftsteak?

any other recommendations for a place to grab a good drink after dinner, that is not too clubby/loungy? I am going to be with my boss and we both love good food and drinks, but dont need the loud thumping or $30 cover.

Need places for foodies as well as designers.

I am traveling to Vegas in 3 weeks for a showroom opening and would like to dine at some great restaurants for food and design.

I have 4 days to eat and gawk, so please help with some places. I like the clean modern contemporary spots, but know that some places are a bit more ornate.

I have reservations at Robuchon, Fleur de Lys, and Mix for dinner so far but can change any of them. I also have lunch at Todd English PUB one day. I would like to add a good steakhouse as well.

I do not mind if they are off the strip or small places, I just want good design and good food.

thanks.

Non-Restaurant Foodie Gems?

ahh. forgot about that one... good call.

Non-Restaurant Foodie Gems?

3 nights in Chicago

Blackbird is my favorite place, you will love it! There is a great winebar that the same owners of blackbird have, called avec, they share an alley. Show up early, grab a drink at Avec, then head to dinner.

Chinatown and Central Park lunches.

Looking for help on a couple of different things.

Visiting NY for the first time and want to spend a day exploring some of the neighborhoods of Chinatown, Little Italy, and SoHo. But I am looking for a cheap place in Chinatown for lunch.

I have read about NY Noodletown and Big Wong King. Those any good? Any other suggestions?

Also, doing a day exploring Central Park. So need a place for tp grab a nice picnic lunch or maybe a place inside the park. Also looking for it to be cheap.

thanks for the suggestions. I am having a great time building our trip around suggestions on Chow.

Forgot to add. But looking for a Deli near Grand Central Station. I heard Junior's should not be considered as a viable deli option. Anything else close by?

Roasted Chicken?

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I must disagree thought that chicken cannot be "interesting".

I am thinking it is down to barbuto and apiary. I would love to go to EMP, but we are only doing one really nice meal on our trip.
I was looking for a notch down form there. that is why Pio Pio interested me.
Thanks.

Roasted Chicken?

This is my favorite meal and a barometer for a restaurant. I find that many new american bistro type of places are thowing it on the menu with some fingerlings and brussel sprouts, but the chicken is dry or rubbery, with no crispy skin.

Any recommendations for places in NY? I am visiting from Chicago in 6 weeks and it is in my list to try a great roast chicken.

thanks.

Chili Crab?

Where can I get a good Chili crab? I know Fatty Crab, but looking for something else.

thanks.

Italian place to carbo load before Marathon

nothing in the $100/plate range. probably more around $25-$35 for your entree. and then all of the other things will add up.

Italian place to carbo load before Marathon

Sette sounds good, and besides one review about bad service and watery sauce, people agree with your recommendation.

Any ideas if they take reservations? I saw that when they first opened they did not, but I assume they do now.

Italian place to carbo load before Marathon

thanks for all the suggestions. I will check them out.

Now for a nice dinner out? I am looking for a place that concentrates on local and organic ingredients, changes the menu regularly, doesn’t have the 12 page menu, but maybe 12-15 items. This can be any type of cuisine, but modern American is probably the best.

Thanks.

Italian place to carbo load before Marathon

I will be visiting DC for the first time in October to do the Marine Corp Marathon. I am looking for an Italian place to carbo load on the night before, but still want good quality pasta and great tasting food. I was looking for a nice inexpensive place, probably $10-$17 for a plate of pasta. I have looked at numerous websites and cant seem to find any good places. I will be staying near the mall, but would be willing to travel to Alexandria or Georgetown or another area that I am not familiar with.

Also, thinking about going to the Blue Duck Tavern another night. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

CHEAP eats in SF/Berkeley

I will bein Berkeley on Monday and SF on Tuesday-Thursday.

Going to One Market for our nice meal. any thoughts?

Heard good things about Sai Jai Thai, anyone confirm.

If you had to choose between Larkin Express and Burma Super Star?

CHEAP eats in SF/Berkeley

I am visiting SF next week and will be there for 3 days. I am travelling on a budget but want to experince great local food. I would prefer local places, off the beaten path, non-touristy.

I would like to find a great sushi place, or chinese place, or mexican place, or some other ethic cuisine that will blow me away. I have read previous posts on this subject, but they were a year or two old, and I know with cheap eat places, they might not be around.

So give me suggestions with neighborhood for lunch or dinner, or even breakfast if you have any. If you have some thoughts for Berkeley, let me know as well.

For me, cheap eats is $10-$15 per person.

thanks. looking forward to finding out some great places.

"Mom and Pop" Italian Restaurant

a new place opened up in West Town.

Natalinos. they are on Chicago Ave near Ashland.

Homemade pasta. Great apps and well priced wine list. you get a lot more bang for your buck versus the larger named, downtown places.

kahan et all

It is at 845 Fulton. Corner of Green and Fulton. Next door to Lumen.

kahan et all
