Seahorse Tavern UES?

Just wanted to give this a bump; Finally got around to trying Seahorse Tavern. Sorry I waited so long! The oysters were great as well as the grilled shrimp salad and mussels. Nice beer selection too. Will definitely be back!

cheese at Fairway - too many strikes to count

Has anyone had success in finding Halloumi at the UES Fairway? The guy behind the cheese counter looked at me like I had seven heads. The deli guy said it was in the Kosher section, but I didn't see it there.

Best Burger in New Port Richey Area?

I finally tried the burger at Alex Place. Not bad! Not my favorite bun but definitely a good, flavorful, inexpensive restaurant burger. I think it was $8 for a 3/4 lb burger with fries. Wings were good too.

Worth a try!

Has anyone tried Pan Asian on E86 yet?

After reading the "Saigon chef" comment on the menu, I decided to order the seafood Canh Chua...something I've been sorely missing since Saigon Grill on 88th closed.

I can only comment on this one bowl of soup but it was exactly as I'd remembered! I'm very happy to have a place close-by for my Canh Chua fix. Tasty and healthy!

Funny to get recommendations from you for Waikiki, UES Mayor. I think we live just a few blocks apart on the UES :)

Waikiki Cheap Eats?

I'm looking for some (non chain) cheap eats in Waikiki.

We stay at the Outrigger Reef and the guys I'm usually with are (1) cheap (2) lazy and (3) not adventurous. We're talking about guys in "Members Only" jackets with white socks pulled up to their knees. They're content to eat at the Shorebird every time they're there.

I usually hit Eggs 'n Things for breakfast and frequently hit a number of different ramen places for lunch or dinner. I've been to Mac 24/7, which I liked, Fatty's and also the food court at the International Market Place.

And walking distance only, please. I'll never be able to talk these guys into renting a car or taking a cab (sad, I know).

Thanks!

One Day/Night in Tampa - give me your best suggestions!

Andy, I didn't realize I was complaining.

Manderley, thanks for the info! I've been to Caposey's several times (as well as Breakfast Station and Smith's Cafe on Main St.

Five Guys is fine...but I prefer to avoid chains.

I'll check out the rest of your rec's. I've actually had a pretty good slice at Slice of Life right here in NPR.

I also recommend Garden of Eden on 19 in Hudson. It's Lebanese and Italian. They have a Boar's Head deli counter for sandwiches (eat in or take-away) and most dishes are homemade, inducing the Tabouli.

One Day/Night in Tampa - give me your best suggestions!

Hey Manderley...I'm a NY'er new to NPR. How 'bout listing some more of your favorites in the area? I'm still getting used to having to drive 25 minutes to find a decent this or that.

In a few months there will be a new Fairway right across the street from my apartment in NYC! Not quite the same convenience here in NPR. But then again, NYC doesn't have the Gulf :)

new UES?

I live on 87th and 2nd and have been out of town most of the summer. I've been walking around the 'hood the past couple of days and hardly recognize the place.

Second between 87th and 72nd looks like it's had a lot of turnover in the past few months. I noticed Noodles 28 is now some other Asian place, Jasmine is gone, Willy's is gone, Etas Unis is gone, the old UT-DT has turned over for a third time.

I need to find some time to get out and try some of the new spots!

Best Burger in New Port Richey Area?

Thanks Manderley...Five Guys is fine but I'm not too into chains. I'll check into Lucky Dill.

I still have a place in NYC but need to find some good eats down here in the Sun :)
