What about Terroni at Summerhill. A bit of a walk but they have some nice private dining areas.

I LOVE the pasta at North Pole bakery at Danforth and Greenwood. Everyday they have a different pasta, all homemade. My favourite is the ravioli on Wednesdays, the cheese filled is unbelievable. I've also tried the chicken sandwiches, smothered in homemade tomato sauce and peppers, yummo!

Walking by yesterday I noticed that there will be a new Bulk Barn opening on the Danforth. It will be located in the old LCBO location near Broadview.

I've been hearing so much about bulk barns but really have yet to shop at one (I normally go to strictly bulk at Pape). What makes them stand out from other bulk stores, is it selection, quality, price?

ok most of the time I am slightly drunk but it's from very good wine!
I just want to give these guys a fair shake that's all, they are super nice the couple times I've run into them and really seem to be trying hard. I'm not saying it's going to be life changing pizza but I'm willing to give it a try.

I don't think these "pizzas" look disgusting. Perhaps some of the toppings aren't to my liking but disgusting?
I'm a 40 something year old professional, middle class woman certainly not a "intoxicated sophomore on a dare." and I think some of the pizzas look appealing.
I don't want to start an argument and I agree everyone is entitled to an opinion but I think that was a bit harsh and kind of reminds me of my toddler daughter who would simply state "I don't like it, gross" before trying something. (We're working on that....)

Jules totally agree, the guys are very hospitable and personable, certainly trying hard. I would much rather a business such as this in my neighbourhood than a seedy little dive of a bar......

Oh yum now I'm craving a poppy seed one. Perhaps I should try my hand at making them.
Milly girl, I still say our area (Danforth) is awesome for food but we are missing a good bagel place. Whenever I visit my parents I pop into Kivas at St. Clair and Yonge and get my fix, I'm sure they have will have some and it's not too far from home.

Yes you're right, I never tried amaro unfortunately, we were new to the neighbourhood and slightly obsessed with Danforth Pizza house (ok we're still obsessed).
Yes, hoping for the best for this new place!

Walking by I noticed a new pizza joint on the Danforth just west of Donlands. It occupies the space that was once some strange "coffee shop" with nargillas, I never saw anyone (including staff) in that space.

I went in to the pizza shop to check it out and grab a take out menu. The owner was very friendly and personal, they did a great job renovating the space.
I will definitely give it a try next time we order. Has anyone tried it yet?

I've gotta tell you, we weren't wowed with Play when we were there last.
Over the holidays we did got to Murray Street and really liked it. Great ambiance and food was delish!
I've heard great things about Wellington Gastropub, it's on my list of places to try, let us know your feedback!

Hi, I've been ordering thai from Mong Kut Thai on the Danforth since I've moved to the east end a few years ago. The past couple of times it seems to be lacking flavour.
I have a ton of take out menus from various places but have no idea which are good.

I've only tried the fresh pasta place at the SLM on the main floor and wasn't impressed. I didn't realize there was a place in the basement! I will give it a try next time.

Also one for Mama Earth. Started this winter with them and am really happy with the ease of ordering, modifying an order, selection and of course the quality of their produce.
Also you can order a ton of stuff non produce including farm fresh eggs which I'm loving.

Very happy to see this thread! We usually go to Pearl Court for a family dinner. Last time we were there the service was beyond appalling. We were ignored, finally placed our order and the waiter walked away half way through the order, we never recieved our drinks and the food was raw, no joke! We were served about 4 dishes, steamed shrimp and they were all raw, disgusting.
No apology or acknowledgment...... anyhow, glad to see that there is a new spot to frequent, thanks for the post and sorry for my rant! We will definitely give it a try!
