New 5 star Korean in KTOWN?

Hearing rumors of a new 5 star Korean restaurant in Koreatown to the likes of Chosun Galbee and Park's BBQ.. Can anyone confirm the name / location? Hearing that its opening this month or possibly already open.. Help!

Brunch in NYC

Called Balthazar for a reservation this weekend to no avail. Who know brunch could be so popular? Can someone recco something comparable, I've read the Brunch post here but seeing if anyone wanted to add their two cents!

One weekend only in NYC, help!

All these places sound great. As for Italian, Im hearing Celeste. Can anyone confirm or deny? Balthazar for Brunch sounds fantastic, can anyone recommend something in SoHo? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh so many places to eat, so little time!!!

One weekend only in NYC, help!

Hey all,

Haven't been to NYC in years, but wanted to make sure we have all wonderful meals throughout the weekend. Can you guys help pick some spots?

I have a table at Morimoto (I know, I know) for dinner, but other than that, can someone help?! Tried calling for a reservation at Babbo but to no avail. Not looking to get crazy at places like Per Se, Daniel, etc.. but a scale back from those types.

We must eat:

Sushi/Japanese
Pizza (Sit down but true NY style)
American / Steak

Any particular brunch spots as well?

Going through Yelp and Opentable is like navigating a maze. Any help from the locals will be greatly greatly appreciated and if you ever need suggestions in Chicago, I'm your guy!

Thx

Staying in Union Square, best cheap eats?

First time in San Fran, staying for two weeks..

Looking for good, cheap eats (healthy a bonus!)
Anywhere around Union Square also a bonus!

Also where to eat around Fishermans Wharf? Anything worthwhile not too fancy?

Thanks!

Recent visit to Zankou... disappointment

I recently visited the Zankou on Sepulveda and was also very dissapointed. The service was very "Soup Nazi-esque" and the food was marginal at best. I love how when you order chicken, the prep cooks behind the counter throw it into the styrofoam box like its a frisbee. I asked for another garlic paste and I got a serious case of stink eye from the witch behind the counter. Zankou was a lot better when it was one or two locations; now it has turned into a commercial disaster

Century City / Bev Hills Carry Out?

Persian sounds wonderful right about now!

Century City / Bev Hills Carry Out?

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Looking for a good place to carry out tonight, somewhere in the Century City / Westwood / West Bev Hills area? Any recs would do, as my tastebuds do not discriminate! Not looking for too fancy, but somewhere where carry outs and good food combine

Thanks!

Looking for a dessert place tonight, any suggestions?

Looking to get a decadent slice of pie or home-made dessert tonight, preferably open late night in the West LA/Santa Monica area.

Chilbunmyonoak - Korean BBQ in K-Town - A Brief Review

Had the pleasure of visiting this somewhat new K-Town restaurant this past weekend. Located on 6th slightly east of Western, this establishment is carried over from various locations in Seoul, and quickly making a name for themselves here in Los Angeles. The decor is modern and comfortable, so this isn't your typical K-Town hole-in-the-wall dive. We didn't get to exprience the actual BBQ part, but we did order some classic Korean staples. They are well known for their Galbee-Tang (Beef Rib Soup in clear seasoned broth) Which is phenomenal. The quality of meat is excellent, and this comes with a strong recommendation especially on a colder night. The next dish we had was Mul-Neng-Myun, and again, I was not dissapointed. Quality of broth and noodles was excellent, and a great alternative for this dish if you're looking for something above average, but not on the level Chosun Galbee. Service was average to above average and the food was well prepared and quickly served.

The Hat - Question about their Pastrami

And for one second I thought I was going to get a Chicago Deli style sandwich... Thanks for all the responses!

Lebanese Food

If you are looking to take a drive, I recommend Zena's in Orange County, about 5 miles away from Angels Stadium / The Pond. It is a mom and pop operation with possibly the best Lebanese homemade food around. There is a small patio which gets quite crowded on the weekends for diners looking for a relaxing dinner and hookah. I recommend the Chicken Kabobs which are meaty and always juicy with a side of their fresh garlic sauce, as well as the Kibbeh and your standard Mezza dishes such as Hummus with beef and the freshest Tabouleh. If you want a patio on the seat I highly suggest a reservation!

The Hat - Question about their Pastrami

Does The Hat slice their Pastrami fresh when the sandwich is ordered? Also do they fry it on a griddle or have the Pastrami in a steamer?

Best Korean Shaved-Ice/Sweet Bean Dessert in KTown?

In regards to my own post, I have found a fairly decent place, Paris Baguette (2 Locations, one in OC and one in K-Town) Very fresh ingredients with no canned fruit cocktail! Runs $6 but worth it for the quality, plus you can always pick up some fresh Korean style pastries!

ISO All You Can Eat Korean BBQ places

DO NOT EAT AT MANNA! This place is a disgrace to Korean food. If you want Taco Bell grade meat and the worse service imaginable, go here. Plus you are eating under a tent which is pretty pathetic. I'm not sure how much they charge, but whatever it is add $10 for the meds you'll have to buy afterwards to cure the stomach pains

Best Korean Shaved-Ice/Sweet Bean Dessert in KTown?

Looking for the ultimate Phat-Bing-Su in Koreatown, can anyone recommend a cafe? So many bakeries and cafe, not sure which one has the best!

North Korean specialties?

There is a place in the strip mall on the corner of Westmoreland and 6th, tucked in the corner. It serves authentic "Pyongyang" Mul-Neng Myun, and it is AMAZING. They make their own noodles and broth, just the way Kim-Il likes it!
