Need an inexpensive WOW for ladies' night out

In my research for this coming weekend, I came across these .... (haven't been to either)

Ayza, Wine & Chocolate Bar:

Stanton Social: tapas/small plates

Also maybe Max Brenner. Food isn't great but some fun chocolate menu items and drinks that are great to share.

Saturday LateNite Options?

Any suggestions for lite dinner options in the mid-town area for Saturday night around 11pm. Usually go to 5Napkin or pizza (Don Antonios or Johns), but trying to find other options. Menus at Vinyl, Cafeteria, and The Smith all look good. Other places to consider?

Here is my dining itinerary:
Friday lunch: Hill Country Chicken
Friday Dinner: Locana Verde

Saturday Brunch: Normas
Saturday Dinner (late): ?

Sunday lunch: Burger Joint
Sunday Dinner: Bocca di Bacco (theatre district)

special anniversary dinner in or near Rockville, MD

I love Founding Farmers, but it's rather noisy and casual for a special occasion. And the service/food there is very inconsistent.

Haven't been in years, but talk of steak houses reminded me of Nick's Chophouse in King Farm .... http://www.nickschophouserockville.co...

Pre-theater between Lincoln Center and Times Square

I've had a nice dinner at Becco before a show in that area. Definitely need a reservation!

Anyone know what happened to the Hollywood Diner on Rockville Pike?

There is still the Star Diner in Kentlands. Nothing great, but not bad either.

Weekend Trip - Midtown/Hells Kitchen

Well, since I didn't get much help from this thread, I stuck to my original agenda for dining. Here's how it went:

Shake Shack - eh..it was fine but don't see what the big fuss is about. Comparable to Wendy's and 5Guys...but 5Guys has better fries. The Peanut Butter milkshake was good. They really need more seating.

Vice Versa - This was a nice dinner - nothing exceptional, but no complaints. The portions were just the right size and prices were average. I had the "amaretto cookies" - loved the flavor, the only thing that would have made it better would have been a cream sauce rather than butter. Grouper w/Lobster Mashed Potatoes was also good and perfectly cooked. A complimentary cookie plate was a nice touch at the end. Service was good and the host (owner/manager?) was very welcoming.

Normas (brunch): The chocolate decadence french toast was truely exceptional! Despite being so much chocolate, it wasn't overly rich/sweet - just perfect. Also had the breakfast quesadilla - eggs were perfectly cooked. This could easily have been greasy, but it wasn't. Interestingly, the waiter recommended this over the "award-winning" potato pancakes. The portion sizes were huge, as were the prices. I'd rather have a smaller portion and lower prices! Orange juice was $9/glass!! Glad I tried it, but at $80 for 2 people for breakfast, don't think I'll be going back.

5 Napkin Burger - Been here before and loved it. This time my original burger was severely overcooked. :o( Flavor was still great, but this time didn't notice the rosemary flavor as much.

Momofuku Milk Bar - Walked past this place 3 times and thought it went out of business - there is no sign! Just the logo on the door, although you can see a "milk" sign inside if you look thru the double doors. (Maybe easier to see at night?). Got the Grasshopper and CinnamonBun pie (to go). YUM.

Italian restaurant in the theater district

Somewhere near Penn Station would be great. Either slice or pie, just don't have a lot of time.

Italian restaurant in the theater district

Based on recommendations here, I'm trying to decide between: Basso 56, ViceVersa, Scarlatto. (Saturday nite dinner, pre-theater.) All the menus look good.

Also, best places for pizza on a Saturday afternoon? Dine-in okay, but something quick.

Thanks!

Farmers and Fishers in Georgetown - Report

I'm a fan of the sister (original), Founding Farmers. However, went to Farmers&Fishers once and was very dissapointed. The service was horrible, food was okay. I ordered a grilled cheese burger - meat was dry and it was all bread - nothing like the great burger (or grilled cheese) at Founding. Friend had a pasta that was watery. Sticking with the original.

Hamburger Hamlet Gaithersburg is Closed

The Hamlet at Rio has closed its doors. Although not great, they did have good burgers.

The big question is what will go in its place? Wasn't Houston's rumored to be scouting out Rio last year?

nice restaurant in Gaithersburg that has menu with calorie counts?

RockCreek in Bethesda? http://www.rockcreekrestaurant.com/

Don't know of anywhere nice with nutritional info on the menu, but as far as restaurant recommendations, in Gaithersburg, if you don't want a chain, you are probably limited to O'Donnells or Flaming Pit.

In Rockville, Tower Oaks/Clydes is a good place to take visitors.

Christmas Eve Dinner

Filomena's in Georgetown is a good place for holiday dining. They usually have the placed decked out in tacky Christmas decor - you'll feel like you're at Grandmas!

Good Breakfast in Germantown/Gaithersburg

It's a bit of a drive (25-30min from Germantown) but Home at Braddock Inn is quite good and the prices are low. They also have some skillet specials that aren't on the website. I can't understand why people wait in line at Cracker Barrel when there is a good local mom-n-pop type place so closeby!

Its not a foodie place, but Lunch/Dinner is good too. Diner-style food but in a nicer setting.

What happened to Cal Tortilla in Germantown?

According to CalTort's facebook page, the Germantown franchise owners closed the store. They are hoping to sell the franchise to new owners and reopen in the same location.

Chipotle is supposed to be opening in the new building a block away in early fall.

Restaurant Everyone Hates But You

I like Lauriol Plaza/Cactus Cantina. It's not 5 star dining, but its better than other mainstream mexican/tex-mex options (Austin Grill, On the Border, Rio Grande, etc).

Also like Mama Lucia - the strip mall Italian restaurant all over Maryland suburbs. Good food, huge portions, reasonable prices.

That's Amore is also a favorite despite closing many locations over the years.

Restaurants Everyone Loves Except You

2Amys - pizza was soggy, undercooked dough, 45 min wait, loud/noisy

Jaleo - tiny portions (yes, even for tapas), chicken was overcooked, other items were cold, overpriced & left hungry
