Alternative to Palermo?

It was pretty ordinary and the service was marginal - we are going to be in the same general area and are searching for alternatives. THANKS!

Going to Greek Theater - Dinner Idea for 6?

Going to a concert but would like to go to a nice dinner on the way - we are coming from the South Bay and enjoy a nice wine list. We have back up reservations at Palermo but it was marginal the last time we went. We like italian, asian, fusion, calif. cuisine. Ideas?

Santa Monica + Convertible + 5 hours

If you head north on PCH you will hit Gladstones restaurant which is a casual mostly ourside dining restaurant - pretty popular - peanut shells on the ground and fairly good food. It is just outside Santa Monica not too far.

Or, drive south toward Manhattan and Hermosa Beach. Lots of little restaurants toward the piers of both beach towns. Look for locals eating in restaurants. Lots of the local casual bars have tv's - SHellback Tavern is in Manhattan - local style pub - might be fun.

Greek in West LA???

A bit more of a drive is Papa Cristo's - it is an original greek style retaurant located around the corner from a greek orthodox church and whenever we go there it is full of locals. It is also a little greek market - I am not sure of address or hours but it is very good authentic, non chain food

Good eats in or near Manhattan Beach?

For barbecue - Joey's in the Manhattan Village Mall, Mexican - Pachanga - in the Manhattan Marketplace where Bristol Farms is, In El Segundo - there is a new large outdoor mall - try Marmalade Cafe, also the market - Whole Foods has a great take out section - it is mind blowing. For comfort italian, quiet and fine for single dining is Lido in the Manhattan Marketplace. All manhattan beach locals LOVE - Uncle Bills (for breakfast)
