La Kinoise - Congolese in Forest Gate [London]

Great find, EXACTLY what Chowhound is all about! Thanks

[London, SE1] Masters Superfish

The place has also had a a recent lick of paint which has brightened it up somewhat.

Also don't forget the weekday lunchtime special : bread, prawns, fish, chips, gherkin, pickled onion and tea or coffee .... A recession (and gut) busting £6.95

Luganega sausage

Does anyone know of a source of fresh luganega sausage in London? Central or West ideally but happy to travel. Fratelli Camisa and Luna only have vacuum packed sausage from Italy.

London - Rasa Sayang in Chinatown

I had a great lunch at the Bonda cafe in Paddington last week. Absolute bargain price for authentic homestyle Malaysian fare...£6 odd for a plate of rice 2 mains and vegetables. Delightful service in fairly utilitarian surroundings and free WiFi. There is plenty on the menu to explore.

FYI Malaysia Kopitiam is on Charing Cross Road and IMHO serves the best Roti and Chicken Rice in town

[London] Waterloo options?

Coral Bay Cafe is one of the better greasy spoons on Lower Marsh. And don't forget the Mexican stall.

Oh and one of the cheapest pints in London at the Lyceum Tavern over Waterloo Bridge on the Strand (£2.12, I believe)

Hot out of the oven stuff at Tetote, Wembley, London

Well if you do get out this way you should check out Munson's for a great coffee and interesting filled rolls and cakes. http://www.montauk.co.uk/munson's.htm

Next door they have opened a frozen yoghurt place, Finster's Fro Yo, also delicious.

Perhaps combine this with a pizza at Santa Maria, http://www.santamariapizzeria.com/, Time Out's choice for best pizza in London (debatable).

Alternatively try Eatalian across the road from Santa Maria for some delicious standard Italian fare with a nice Italian vibe in the restaurant and in my opinion better pizzas.

Next door to that is Butlers Thai (not been there for ages) and next to that is Joie de Vivre, an interesting Mediterranean place.

All these places are within 10 mins walk.

Turned up too late at Tetote this afternoon so will have to revisit next week.

paris restaurants with 3 teen boys

Wrong board I'm afraid and faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar too general a request. I would advise reposting and specifying what you mean by picky, which areas of Paris you are considering and what sort of budget.

Suggestions for easy/takeaway/delicious near Marylebone High Street for visitors, markets ok

And look out for their "dinner for 2 for £10" deals - main, side dish and dessert with a bottle of wine. Marks and Spencer on Oxford St do a similar offer.

Cheese Vendors @ Borough Market

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/bermondsey-seven-evicted-as-food-market--tensions-grow-2283885.html

The Bermondsey Seven are: The Borough Cheese Co., The Ham and Cheese Co., Hophurst Farm/Rennet and Press, Kappacasein, Kaseswisss, Mons and Topolski.

Le Puy en Velay & Thiers

An atlas? :)

Wrong board I'm afraid.

A week in Venice (long)

Thank you ever so much for such a detailed, inspiring and useful post. I look forward to exploring many of these places which are new to me.

101 Thai Kitchen (Hammersmith) [London]

I tried the Kaeng Tai Pla (fish kidney curry) at 101 a few weeks ago - it's the hottest thing I have EVER tried and I love spicy food! Certainly a dish to share around several people.

I need a best restaurant list for Venice 2011- Splurge for 3 days

You can't really go wrong with any from this list:

http://www.veneziaristoranti.it/index-en.htm

My particular favourites: Al Covo, Alle Testiere, Antiche Carampane, Fiaschetteria Toscana and Vini Da Gigio

Tea and Cake in London. Advice needed!

Thanks for the review...another one for the list! I hope your friend was OK in the end.

Something in Pimlico (London)

I would highly recommend the Regency Cafe. Certainly not fancy but good solid cooking, great portions and very friendly staff; an ideal place for a visitor to experience the fast dieing classic cafe culture.

I think it's open from 7am - 2pm, then from 4pm (or 4.30pm) to 7pm, Monday to Friday, and 7am-12.00 on Saturday, but double check.

Regency Cafe, 17-19 Regency Street, SW1

Venice Restaurants

Many thanks for that. I must try it out later this year.

Venice Restaurants

I didn't know that Gianni Bonaccorsi has a pizza place. You're not getting confused with Il Refolo which is allied to Da Fiore are you?

British Cheese

That would be Comte from the summer milk

Suggestions wanted for a week in London next month

In which case much better going to Masters Superfish down the road for some of the best fish and chips in town. Formica table tops but very friendly.

British Cheese

Can't beat a well ripened Wigmore.

Or a Single Gloucester

Or a Blue Vinney

CAMRA National Pub of the Year 2010/2011

Breast Milk Ice Cream Coming to London Shop

"Decadent" wasn't the first adjective to spring to my mind!

Anyway it's been withdrawn to ensure it's "fit for human consumption".

A good starting point for your research:

Any "must get" food items that can travel back to States?

I'm not sure it's a "must get" but Gentlemen's Relish (otherwise known as Patum Peperium) is quintessentially English. It''s not to everyone's taste; a spicy salty anchovy paste and is delicious spread thinly on hot buttered post. You'll find it in Fortnum's and most large supermarkets.

Physalis?

In search of authentic Singapore food/Asian

Kopi Tiam on Charing Cross Road is generally very good and great value although their Thai dishes disappoint. I seem to remember they have a fish head bee hoon on their menu but not sure about fish head curry.

PLEASE HELP ME! :)

Mmm that sounds absolutely delicious. What time's dinner?

Need recs for 5 nights in London near the Landmark Hotel in Marylebone and surrounding area

I thnk you may be confusing the Golden Hind fish and chip bar and the Golden Eagle pub; both are on Marylebone Lane.

Traveling solo to London (22 hour layover)

Do bear in mind that the Marylebone Farmers' Market winds up at 1.30- 2pm.

I second cathode's suggestion of Providores. A wander up and down Marylebone High Street on Sunday is a real favourite especially if the weather is behaving.

And the Angel in the Fields pub on Marylebone High St must have the cheapest pint in London (< £2) but a bit utilitarian.
