Good, nice, affordable dining in dwtn LA
Okay, here's the situation; I'm going on a 1st date with a girl that I really like and want to impress. She works downtown and we have plans dwtn later in the evening. It'll have to be an early dinner because our plans start at 7:30p. I'd like to take her somewhere w/ a nice decorum and good food. If we were going out anywhere else in LA I would have tons of ideas of where to take her. I'm familiar with many great restaurants dwtn, but unfortunately they're all very pricey. Any nice, trendy, romantic, delicious, affordable restaurant suggestions downtown would be much appreciated. The cuisine doesn't matter. We're both open minded and adventurous eaters. Thanks guys.

Has anybody ever been to Pastis? I've been hearing good things.

Sorry if I was a bit vague guys, but I actually prefer my French and Asian cuisines separate. I was just saying that they were two of my favorite cuisines. What do you all think of the 1st poster's suggestion, Comme Ca?
Moules & Beer spots in LA?
Where can I find a great spot that specializes in mussels prepared a variety of ways and also has a good selection of (oh, lets say Belgian) beer? I went to an amazing Belgian place in NYC that I'm basically trying to recreate in LA. Any suggestions?

Sure. It's going to be a group of 5 or 6 this Saturday night. Food can be any cuisine really but my faves are French and any of the Asian cuisines. Atmosphere should be fun and not overly formal, but a bit refined. It would be great if the price of the majority of entrees didn't exceed $40. Thanks again.

Hello. I'm looking for a great restaurant to celebrate my 30th B-day w/ some friends. I've already been to places like Campanile, Patina, Literatti II, Table 8, Sushi Nozawa, Katsu-Ya, and Hatfields among others. Can anyone please suggest some other really good spots? Thank you.
