Thoughts on Bistro 110?
Recently, I had an excellent dining experience at Bistro 110, largely because of the sensitivity they exhibited regarding my son's food allergies, and their accomodating attitude regarding children. My husband and I and our three children stopped in for an early dinner, and found the staff to be top notch. They were so professional in the way that they inquired about our son's allergies, and they were happy to give suggestions for his meal as far as what would be safe choices for him. There were crayons so that the kiddies could amuse themselves while we waited for our food, and my husband and I were able to relax with some fine wine. The food was expeditious and delicious. The restaurant is ideally located for shopping, visiting the American Girl Store, or for those staying in any of the excellent hotels in the area. I highly recommend it for anyone, and most especially for those for whom food allergies are an issue. It was a really great experience!
Restaurants in Beverly/Mt Greenwood?
Two fantastic gourmet restaurants have really enhanced the southside dining experience: Koda on Western Avenue, and Cafe 103 on 103rd Street, steps from the Rock Island Metra line. Koda has a full bar in addition to the dining room, with a varied menu and tasteful wine selections. Its appropriate for both intimate dinners and larger groups. Cafe 103 is BYOB only, and it is a very small dining space more ideally suited to couples and small groups. Its menu is somewhat more eclectic than Koda, and the service is very good. I've dined at both restaurants and happily recommend them. I found Cafe 103 to be a bit more expensive, and I will return there for a special occasion. At Koda, there is the option to order appetizers at the bar in lieu of a more formal dining experience, and they offer appetizer/drink specials certain days of the week. I highly recommend both places and appreciate their differences. They have set a new standard in dining experiences for the neighborhood!
