Trader Joe's Kosher:

Had the biscuits as a before-the-fast treat - very yummy. Am trying the cinnamon buns tonight for Shabbat dessert (not to worry we're having a dairy dinner!)

Trader Joe's Pizza Dough to lose kosher certification

still has the hechsher in the Rockville, MD store!

Trader Joe's Pizza Dough to lose kosher certification

interestingly I found a terrific fresh whole wheat pizza dough at WalMart with a Kof-K hechsher. It's in the deli section and I've bought it both in Florida near Deerfield Beach and Frederick MD. IMHO, much better than TJ's

Kosher in DC area (not Shomer)

I think you may mean a place where you can pre-purchase a Shabbat meal, like you can in many cities in Europe. There used to be a place that did that, but the Va'ad only them do it because it was in a hotel. I have asked at Pomegranate if they could do that and their reply was "the Va'ad won't let us". If you're staying in DC for Shabbat your next best bet is to get a fridge in your hotel room and buy food beforehand.

Coming to Skokie--where to eat?

Ken's Diner - where else can you get a burger and the most amazing (parve) shake you've ever had? We ate there in 2006 and are still talking about it!

ORLANDO-DISNEY AREA FOOD

The Disney parks are all very expensive as it is, why add extra restaurant costs either in or out of the park? My family of 5 stayed in a lovely townhouse on the property (I think now it's part of Animal Kingdom) and we'd eat breakfast in the room, take lunch and snacks to the park, return to the room to chill and have either early or late dinner there and back to the park at night. I brought some frozen meat/chicken double wrapped, a pot for pasta, etc. The food you eat out is also not nearly as healthy as what you can prepare when you can monitor how much oil, salt, etc. you add.

mishloach manot themes

we have done a number of themes - all well received: an airline meal, an "all Canadian" (we're originally from there), breakfast meal, emergency Shabbat kit, and when we moved, one thing for each letter of our new town. Each was accompanied by a cute poem. Also, I really try to count how many I receive the previous year so there's little waste as many people now participate in the large group baskets the shuls/schools send out, or send a card to sponsor an organization.
