Diabetic candy in Cambridge/Somerville?

Anyone know of a good place to buy interesting gift-worthy sugar free candy in the Cambridge or Somerville area?

Buona Vita Arlington reopened?

it just reopened last Monday. the new chef-owner is an Italian feller who used to be the chef at Mare in the North End. Haven't been but I've looked at the menu which looks good, if basic. Apps are in the $6-10, pizzas $9-14 and entrees $14-25.

Your Favorite South End Restaurant...please :)

just for Valentine's Day (and maybe New Year's)

Winter Restaurant Week 2009

Grotto and Marliave basically offer their whole menus for Restaurant Week, which seems like a pretty good deal and I like the looks of Masa's menu.

They all seem like pretty good deals to me - you'd be hard pressed to get three courses for $11 each at just about any of these places (with some exceptions).

That being said, it seems like everyone all over town is offering discounted prix fixe menus so why wait til restaurant week and have to deal with crowds and harried staff. just go now...to Radius (3 courses for $45), Via Matta (3 courses for $40), Great Bay (3 courses for $35), Lumiere (3 courses for $35), Chiara, EVOO, 33...

ISO Jellybeans Sold by Individual Flavor

The candy store in the Pru (Truffles?) was closed temporarily due to a fire but they're back up and running - I was there over the weekend. A word to the wise: their jelly beans are $15 per pound, which added up right quick.

Diners injured at Franklin Southie

Had a delicious bite at the bar last night. Kinda quiet for 10 on a Wednesday - maybe it was just too cold - but we had great service from the bartenders and enjoyed the short rib and the cornmeal calamari apps.

Jelly Belly jelly beans

Perfect! I knew there was someplace I wasn't thinking of. Their website says they have over 250 types of bulk candy including jelly belly. I'll cross my fingers for pink grapefruit! Thank you!

Jelly Belly jelly beans

So, this may not be the most chow-ish of queries, but I'm slightly obsessed with the pink grapefruit jelly beans from Jelly Belly which they sell (or sold) at the Truffles Confections in the Prudential Mall. On my last excursion the store was papered over due to a fire. Does anyone know a) when they're reopening or b) what other candy stores sell Jelly Belly jelly bean in those make-your-own-mix bulk bins. I think Sugar Heaven on Newbury closed and I'm drawing a blank as to other places that are T accessible. Thoughts?

Chinese BBQ Pork

there's a great recipe in this month's Cooks Illustrated. I mean really, really great.

New Mexican on Beacon Street?

Has anyone been to Taqueria la Mexicana - it's across the street from Anna's on Beacon Street?

Bricco's warning

I think Rita is the manager at Domani, or was, last I heard.

Where to get the best Bread Pudding

I think it's a brown butter bread pudding and it's so, so, so yummy.

First time at Sage

ah. that makes more sense. I thought maybe Anthony Susi was the first person ever to get a renovation project finished ahead of schedule...

First time at Sage

so the new space is up and running?

Hopefully not impossible - quiet dinner in Harvard Square?

Sandrine's might work - it never strikes me as noisy

Good appetizers in Downtown/Financial District?

Vintage Lounge? http://vlboston.com/

When is restaurant week?

the www.RestaurantWeekBoston.com list is up and running, for anyone who's interested, I know there are plenty of negative feelings towards Restaurant Week - but it certainly makes for good conversation.

WIENER SCHNITZEL ..in Boston !! :-)

Locke Ober used to have a great weiner schnitzel but I don't know if they still do. It'd be worth checking.

Harrison Ave...?

The new Sapphire Group restaurant is called Rocca - they've already got a website up: http://roccaboston.com

Any Activity at South Kitchen?

Anything going on over there?

Tasca - disappointing tapas

I had the same cascade experience there like, five years ago. weird.

R.I.P, Caffe Umbra

does anyone know what's next for Laura Brennan?

Restaurant that went into the old Ambrosia spot?

It's called Sasso and it's from the same people as Lucca in the North end - beyond that, I don't know much. The last time I walked by they looked very, very close to opening. Have they officially opened yet?

When is restaurant week?

www.BostonRestaurantWeek.com says they'll send you the list as soon as it's available

Masona Grill chef?

So Micheal Burgess was the opening chef there, but has since left. Does anyone know who's running the show these days? Is it still a place worth checking out?

Good Recipes for Slow Cooker

So I recently dug out our mini slow cooker, determined to put it to good use. My online recipe search has yielded little though, does anyone know of a good source (preferably ones that don't involve cream of mushroom soup or maraschino cherries)?

Going for lunch on Sat in Chestnut Hill

Aquitaine Bis? The Met Club is also open for lunch these days

Having Trouble Trying to Track A Poster

I'm having the same problem - what am I doing wrong?

A steakhouse without the stuffiness

how about Copia, which bills itsef as a Mediterranean steakhouse and has been getting some rave reviews on the board recently?
