Looking for a restaurant that serves a mean raw bar. Aquagrill |

All of Alex Rajj's places. U left out El QUinto Pino. Tia Pol was number one when she was there. I happen to like Solera too. Great old school bartender there to talk tapas and wine. |

Katz's sandwiches have definitely gotten smaller? Tip better. |

Just ate here. Very average sandwich. Machine cut. Not enough spice. Needed more time in the water, almost but not tender enough. Not a fan of the rye bread they use either. Just nothing special. Would not return. |

15 East Omakase vs Tasting Menu Kanoyama gets the biggest selection of fish from Japan of any place in NYC. I think it depends on WHO is making the sushi there and where you sit. |

Tee season started a few weeks ago. You will find them used in all styles of Japanese restaurants. |

The Meat Hook has rabbits and the Food Town on North 3rd does too. They have the vacuum packed D'artagnan rabbits. |

Vote up for Yebisu in Williamsburg. I liked it. |
|
|
Any of the Japanese markets will have it. Either refrigerated or worse case frozen. Midoriya in Williamsburg has it frozen. ON North 9th St. |

Really hard to find good paella in NYC. Part of the problem is that if they cook it correctly, with socarrat, most NYers think that it is overcooked burned. So to undercook it on purpose screws up the whole thing. Socarrat restauarant uses some shortcuts that ruin their paellas and in my experience the cooking is wildly uneven. My buddy raves about Boqueria, but he has an in with the chef who cooks it for him the right way. Personally, I prefer fideua and cook it at home. |

Did not know that you were a pastrami maven too. ;-) Back when I worked on the Street as a trader, we hired a limo to take us around on a pastrami tasting. Katz's, 2nd Ave. a place behind the old AMEX, St. Charlie's. St. Charlies was the best. OMG was it good. It was an Irish bar with a carving station that was amazing. I believe it is long gone. Don't get me wrong, Katz's otherwise is the best in the City. Pastrami Queen on Queen's Blvd back in the day was impossible to drive by. |

Just an honest mistake. Meant for the OP> |

At the Boqueria eat at Quim and Pinoxto. Do not miss Bar Canete for tapas. OR Bar Mut. ABAC is another choice for high end molecular dinner. Quimet y Quimet and Cal Pep are sure things too. |

Marlow and Son, Diner, Allswell, Walter Foods, Il Paiolo, Sweetwater, Rye, Aurora, Cayler, Anella. |

There is no buzz for a reason. The place itself is really nice. The food is not. I have not eaten everything on the menu, but what I did have, was either bad or just not memorable. Search the web, there are reviews out there. |

Omakase recommendation: Yasuda, Brushstroke or Azabu? Is the tall guy named Kyoshi? |
|
|
Omakase recommendation: Yasuda, Brushstroke or Azabu? The problem with Yasuda is that an omakase dinner will be one dimensional. It will be sushi only. Mitsuru was trained by Yasuda and Yasuda hated cutting sashimi. Mitsuru left to his own devices (First hand experience) will serve you sushi only. Of course you can ask for sashimi, but it will be very expensive and no where near as good as all of the other places mentioned. |

Ideal Sushi (Omakase) for Group of 4 You could do 4 at the bar at Shinbashi. Let Nakajimi know it is special event b4. |

Fabbrica in Williamsburg - have any CH's eaten there? Il Paiolo on North 6th. Went there for dinner recently. Fabricca was mediocore at best. |
