I just found the new Cafe hot spot in Bay Head. Was in town over weekend and saw that they have re-opened from Sandy. New owners and they have made the place beautiful. They serve breakfast and lunch for now and from what they said will open their ice cream shop soon.
I had the Eggs Benidict, that were cooked PERFECT! The white was set up and the yolk was nice and runny, Hollindaise was nice and smooth. not normally a potato guy, but they were delicous, just the right amount of pepper and onions. My Buddy had the Pancakes, had to have at least one. it was nice and fluffy.
I'm going back again this weekend for lunch. I saw they had a Lobster Roll on Menu, so I will be all over that.

Did the FBI recommend it?

Doesn't anyone realize that there is a world wide shortage of peanuts? the price is double in last 6 months. Thats why they are getting rid of the peanuts.

I had dinner at Rats 2 weeks ago. Food was amazing. Had the lamb Tartare, Braised short ribs. Amuse was a cucumber soda, pretty tasty. Chef sent out some kind of ravioli with morels and foie gras really good. Then butter poached lobster, not sure what was in butter sauce, but really good. it had something in it, wasnt just burre blanc. oh yeah, had the beer flight, settled with DogFish. Then chef sent out duck breast with pickled mushrooms. For dessert we had everything on menu. Waiter took menus away when we couldn't decide and brought out a plate with a lot of things on its. Chocolate mousse, Peas & Carrots and a few others.

Really nice time. Well done.

Michel Richard is Central was supposed to be open this week.
The following I know are open. Mussel bar, Lugo Caffe, Azure, American Cut, One, and the 3 Jose Grcis restaurants. Luke Pallidino will be opening a smaller venue of retail items and preparded foods, but not until Mid June. As I get more info I will pass along.

ChefMD is gone as well as his sous chef has deprted in the past month. Who knows who is in there?

Brennan's Rumson, They do all the parties in Rumson area and can travel. Or Spargos in Manalapan. they are both mobile. Brennas has liquer Spargos does not.

I have not spoken with Jim personaly, but I am friends with quite a few of the employees. Jim told them that he has closed the doors. we should all wish him well on his retirement. He has worked almost every day since 1978 when he bought it.

Although you think I am doing a disservice, here on the chow hound I offer my services and plethora of knowledge to this forum. In this instance, as usual, I am correct. Doris and Eds is closed FOR GOOD!  I guess we will find out for sure on february 1st 2012 when the doors do not open.

We have many mutual friend, who all speak highly of you, but the difference between the critics and some people on this board is that. The critics don’t try to beat down the restaurant like some people do here. People not in the business don’t know or see what it takes to own and run your own restaurant. I don’t feel the need to try and hurt someone. There are other ways to say you didn’t like the food at a particular place them some people are doing.

That is why they are critics, because the are knowledgeable in their profession

I would leave it alone and wait for 709 to open if you want to eat in downtown PP.
