Just one buffet?

I agree with this list, but would add Mozen Bistro as another Sunday brunch option. The Easter brunch we had this weekend was outstanding. http://photos.mandarinoriental.com/is...

Best sashimi (not sushi) - price/location no object?

Kabuto, Raku, Yonaka and Omae. Kabuto would be my top choice. Bar Masa at Aria might be another option, but you will pay a lot more for same quality as Kabuto.

David Clawson Restaurant - easily the best restaurant in Henderson...and not far from the best in Nevada.

This thread needs a bump.

Finally got a chance to dine at David Clawson this past Friday night. Your review is spot on. We will be going again next Friday night! We shared 14 dishes and there was not really a dud to be found. They had 5 specials posted in addition to the updated menu found on their website. We tried two specials, bone marrow and pork barbacoa posole. The bone marrow was nice with pork belly and tangerine/onion jam. The pork posole was fantastic, I want that recipe! Other favorites were the veal cheek, foie gras, shrimp, yellowtail salad, crab, and of course the sticky apricot pudding. We are not big wine drinkers, but I really enjoyed the wine pairings. The 2oz tasting or 5oz pours are a nice touch. Our server was outstanding. I believe he is studying to become a sommelier, because he really knew the wines and had thorough explanations of each wine. More people need to make the journey to Henderson to see what Mr. Clawson is doing.

Baazar Meat questions

I'm not sure. When you are seated you walk by the grill and I'm sure they had those steaks pre-cut. I believe most are at least 2lbs. You could probably request a bigger or smaller ribeye, those steaks are made for sharing. We shared with the couple next to us & still ended up taking steak home. But, we ordered many of the smaller plates.

Baazar Meat questions

We liked the smaller plates more than the steak at Bazaar Meat. The Cotton Candy Foie, Jose Asian Tacos & pork skin chicharron are all very good. We really enjoyed the beef & parmesan grissini. You might be better off getting the Wagyu beef cheeks and other small plates to share. We had the Lindsay Ranch beef and it was 2.5lbs. While it was tasty, we have had better steaks at Cut or Gordon Ramsey.

Good casual food in Vegas (bunch of rock climbers looking for just really great casual food)

Rollin Smoke BBQ. Goodwich for some good/unique sandwiches, followed by Art of Flavors gelato. Check out Oscars Cafe in Springdale (Zion), good breakfast & lunch spot.

Here now, in search of Sweets!

Love the pastries at Bouchon. Art of Flavors & Jinju chocolates are world class, not to be missed. The owner at Art of Flavors is awesome, let's you try everything before you decide. She does some really unique flavors. Can't go wrong with the truffles & candy bars at Jinju.

Thanks for the review. This place has been on my radar since it opened. Looks like I will be driving down to Henderson soon. It will be interesting to see how they do long term. Mostly chain restaurants and not many "fine" dining options close by. Henderson needs more places like this, hopefully locals will go.

Best romantic bar and best romantic restaurant in Vegas?

Mandarin Bar followed by dinner at Twist. For Thai, Chada and Lotus of Siam are clearly the best in town.

Caesars restaurants

Wish I saw this yesterday...we went to Gordon Ramsay Pub last night, very mediocre. Fish & chips were good, but not $30 good! Sticky toffee pudding was also a letdown...not as good as GR Steak.

Caesars restaurants

I am definitely going to Spago for a couple of lunches and probably one dinner depending on my wife's schedule. I will probably make it to Gordon Ramsay Pub just to get the sticky toffee pudding. Anybody been to Payard or Bacchanal buffet lately? It's been a while since I've been to Payard, but I was not impressed. I usually avoid buffets but have heard good things about Bacchanal.

Caesars restaurants

Looking for opinions on Caesars/Forum shop restaurants. Mesa Grill, Gordon Ramsay Pub, Payard, Spago, Nobu, bacchanal buffet, etc. I am Las Vegas local, who will be attending a information security conference at Caesars and I am looking for lunch and dinner options. Thanks.

A romp through the menu at Bazaar Meat - a good meal, at a price.

We made it to Bazaar Meat last Saturday night and tried our best to sample as many things as possible. We had the cotton candy foie gras, jose’s asian taco, beefsteak tomato tartar, beef & parmesan grissini, Lindsay ranch rib eye, brussel sprouts, Robuchon potatoes and the chef’s selection of little desserts. And thanks to the wonderful couple from LA next to us, we got to sample the pork skin chicharron, little pork sandwiches and the waygu beef cheeks (we passed some of our dishes over as well). The small plates or tapas impressed us the most. The Robuchon mashed potatoes, cotton candy foie gras, asian tacos, beef carpaccio, pork sandwich, and beef cheeks were our favorites. The rib eye was good, but we have had better steaks at Cut, Gordon Ramsay Steak and even Stripsteak. The desserts were ok, I think next time we will just try the foie s’mores with coffee. I think on the strength of the small plates, Bazaar Meat is probably in the top 3-4 of Las Vegas steakhouses. This place is definitely a great place for group dining, as the menu is huge – literally a huge plastic slab of a menu! If we go back we want to try the suckling pig, but I guess Jaleo has suckling pig on Sunday’s so we will probably try it there first.

Carnevino is probably the next steakhouse on our list.

Japanese Cuisine by Omae - a 'destination' off-strip restaurant, but only time will tell if it can last

We had a wonderful meal last night at Japanese Cuisine by Omae. The restaurant is a small space, but very tranquil atmosphere (loved the Koi fish) with great service. Las Vegas is definitely becoming a mecca of Japanese cuisine. Raku, Sweets Raku, Kabuto, Yonaka, and now Omae. Looking back at your blog, it looks like the menu is still the same. They are still waiting on the liquor license and I believe they might be changing the menu in mid October. I guess they did not have the A5 kobe upgrade last night, but the grilled Wagyu wowed us more than Lindsay Ranch rib eye at Bazaar Meat! We really enjoyed the charcoal grilled cod over rice, the steak with wasabi mashed potatoes and the sweet shrimp tartar with those great shrimp chips. There were only six people seated for the 5:30pm service, hopefully more people support this truly outstanding restaurant.

The Griddle Cafe at SLS - the food lives up, the service needs work.

After getting tempted by uhockey’s reviews and pictures we finally tried The Griddle Café this past Friday and it was outstanding. My wife loves huevos rancheros, so she had the Tequila Sunrise. I had a couple of bites; it was very good with the chicken tequila sausage being the standout of the dish. I had the BLUESberry pancakes with a side of bacon. Great blueberry filled pancakes, but I thought the blueberry sour cream was too much, so I used more maple syrup instead. What surprises me the most about this place is the level of quality with the huge portion sizes. Usually you get huge portions of mediocre food, not so here. Note for the locals – it is easy getting in and out of the SLS from valet or self-parking. We will return soon to try some different items, the french toast and pumpkin pancakes are calling me.

Dinner at Bazaar Meat®; dessert at Ku Noodle @ the SLS (12 Sept. 2014)

There is just way too much that looks good on Bazaar Meat's menu! With iberico, foie gras & suckling pig, I don't know if we will make it to steak when we go on the 27th. Looks like multiple visits for me in the near future. Thanks for the report.

Alize - review is coming, but first a question to the CH community

Do they still have those ancient "silver domes" that they pull off to reveal each course? We got a good laugh out of that, thinking we were on an 80s cruise ship! Hopefully, you had a better experience than we had around Valentine's day last year. The only good thing I could remember is the view.

The whole Palms property needs a refresh.
