Need Help!!! Tasting Menu $100ish???

It's been about a year since I've been to Sage. They have some great dishes but the overall experience has fallen off. Twist is probably the best option if you are looking for French fine dining. Raku or Kabuto followed by Sweets Raku (I'm a glutton!) would be my 2nd option. Scarpetta could be another option if you want Italian. The pasta is outstanding & great view of Bellagio fountains.

Sweets Raku

New business hours starting in March for Raku Sweets. Many new savory items coming to their menu. Soups, sandwiches, croissants will coming. According to one of the servers, they will use fish & other products Raku grill uses. We watched the Raku head chef sample many items today and they let us sample the vegetable soup & tomato soup. The soups were good and we can't wait to try the other new lunch items. They also let us try red & white sangria, both were they very good. We can't wait to go back & try the new menu as they expand.

Best Restaurant With A View

Scarpetta is a great option for Italian. Twist at Mandarin Hotel is outstanding and would be my first choice. We like going to the Mandarin Bar and then walk over to Twist for dinner. You can reserve seats at Mandarin Bar and Twist via Opentable.com

Coming back to Vegas. Anything new, not too pricey, that I shouldn't miss?

Sweets Raku does not take reservations. I've never had a problem getting in, although we tend to go 6-9pm. Went last night after Kabuto around 7:30pm. Try the new dessert: red rock & we love the cheese plate.

If you are going to Raku, you might as well go to Sweets Raku in the same strip mall.

Visiting soon...Sweets Raku and other questions

You should be able to get in. I have been 5 or 6 times since they opened and have not had a problem getting in. The chocolate dessert, "Apollo" & the apple pie are my favorites. Like uhockey said the foie gras is very good & I really enjoy the cheese plate as well. Those mille-feuille dipping sticks that come with the foie & cheese plate are addictive.

Kabuto then Sweets Raku is great combo. No reservations at Sweets Raku. They have added cheese plate, foie gras, and caviar as extra dishes. Looks like they have some new desserts:

You can always eat dessert first. They open at 3pm and they seem to get packed after 8pm in my experience. We usually eat dinner at 6pm & now go to Sweets Raku.

Pappardelle

Scarpetta. Any of the pastas at Scarpetta are outstanding. I believe the Vintner Grill off the strip has a wild boar bolognese version, but its been a while since we've been.

Bank Atcharawan's Chada Thai To Open on October 12

We visited Chada last night for the second time. They are still waiting on the liquor license. The fresh oysters are definitely a must try. Our other favorites are the Seabass Tod Krueng - nice chili paste sauce, Panang Curry, Miang Puo - crab meat lettuce wraps and Nua Nam Tok - rib steak with spicy sauce.

Foie in Las Vegas

Le Cirque usually has a couple of different preparations. Off strip Raku has 3 or 4 I believe. The soy glazed grilled & egg custard foie are amazing.

uhockey heading back to Vegas. Anything new and noteworthy?

I would go back to Raku and try the 15 course kaiseki dinner.
http://unicaworld.com/foodwinekitchen...

For lunch you can't go wrong with Estiatorio Milos. The grilled octopus and sea bass are outstanding. The three course lunch to me is a little on the light side, so I would add a few courses from the dinner menu.

Bread and Butter is very good. We always leave with a box full of baked goods, cookies, cupcakes, etc. Chocolate and Spice on west sahara is another breakfast/lunch option. Megan Romano is the owner and former pastry chef at Aureole. We have only tried the desserts, but the banana cream pie, chocolate nutella bombe and dark chocolate tart are worth the drive.

é by José Andrés

We submitted a request for reservations on Saturday April 2nd to celebrate our wedding anniversary. They said that normally they accept reservations only up to one month in advance, but they would accommodate our request. It took about 2 weeks to get first reply back. General manager probably very busy with reservation requests. Can't wait to try e!

Looking for the middle ground

On the strip we like Julian Serrano, Sage & RM Seafood. Off the strip favs are Raku, Lotus of Siam, Todd's Unique, Rosemary's (wed ladies night 50% off food) and Firefly.

Medium places near Henderson

I also recommend Todd's. Great seafood flown in daily or if beef is your thing try the short rib or skirt steak.

Places off the strip in Las Vegas

I second the Raku recommendation. Call now & get a reservation. I also like Todd's Unique for outstanding steaks/seafood (try skirt steak or short rib). Lotus of Siam is the must try Thai place in town. Hit Settebello for the best Italian pizza in Vegas (good lunch spot). Love the wild boar bolognese & seafood bouillabaisse at Vintner Grill (also open for lunch). Marche Bacchus is a nice bistro with great wine shop. Rosemary's is always worth the trip.

Picasso (anyone been recently?) and tasting menu question...

We went to Picasso in Oct for fiancee b-day. We loved every aspect of the dining experience. Food/Wine, service & decor were wonderful. Really can't beat sitting 5 feet from multi-million dollar Picasso painting. I had the "degustation tasting menu & fiancee had prix fixe. Favorite dishes were the lobster salad, foie gras & choc cake dessert. After dinner they invited us to enjoy coffee & mignardises on the patio overlooking the bellagio fountains.

Zion National Park - any suggestions?

Has anybody tried Parallel Eighty Eight in the Driftwood Lodge? Opened back in March, looks interesting. Thanks.
