At a loss...
I second Sage. check out uhockey's review- http://uhockey.blogspot.com/2010/12/sage-las-vegas-nv.html
é by José Andrés
We submitted a request for reservations on Saturday April 2nd to celebrate our wedding anniversary. They said that normally they accept reservations only up to one month in advance, but they would accommodate our request. It took about 2 weeks to get first reply back. General manager probably very busy with reservation requests. Can't wait to try e!
Looking for the middle ground
On the strip we like Julian Serrano, Sage & RM Seafood. Off the strip favs are Raku, Lotus of Siam, Todd's Unique, Rosemary's (wed ladies night 50% off food) and Firefly.
Medium places near Henderson
I also recommend Todd's. Great seafood flown in daily or if beef is your thing try the short rib or skirt steak.
Best Doughnuts in Vegas
Ronald's easily the best donuts in town...try the apple fritters. It's a cash only spot.
Vegan or Vegetarian in Vegas
Ronalds Donuts on Spring Mountain. Two words - Vegan Donuts!
Places off the strip in Las Vegas
I second the Raku recommendation. Call now & get a reservation. I also like Todd's Unique for outstanding steaks/seafood (try skirt steak or short rib). Lotus of Siam is the must try Thai place in town. Hit Settebello for the best Italian pizza in Vegas (good lunch spot). Love the wild boar bolognese & seafood bouillabaisse at Vintner Grill (also open for lunch). Marche Bacchus is a nice bistro with great wine shop. Rosemary's is always worth the trip.
Picasso (anyone been recently?) and tasting menu question...
We went to Picasso in Oct for fiancee b-day. We loved every aspect of the dining experience. Food/Wine, service & decor were wonderful. Really can't beat sitting 5 feet from multi-million dollar Picasso painting. I had the "degustation tasting menu & fiancee had prix fixe. Favorite dishes were the lobster salad, foie gras & choc cake dessert. After dinner they invited us to enjoy coffee & mignardises on the patio overlooking the bellagio fountains.
Zion National Park - any suggestions?
Has anybody tried Parallel Eighty Eight in the Driftwood Lodge? Opened back in March, looks interesting. Thanks.
Lotus of Siam - help me decide this year's....
How about Sai Oua? It's a northern thai style sausage that's one of my current favs. And the sticky rice with mangos & coconut ice cream, perfect ending at LOS.
Top Chef Season 6
There are four Whole Foods markets here in Las Vegas. I'm sure they will use the one on south Vegas Blvd. I'm excited about season 6 being here in Las Vegas.
What's new in Vegas...where should we go?
My top 5 off-strip - Raku, Lotus of Siam, Todd's Unique, Vintner Grill & Rosemary's.
LV Off Strip Local Finds?
For amazing Japanese small plates head to Raku. It's open late 3am, so if you need a late night option they can't be beat. And just down the street from Raku is Ronald's Donuts, home of the best donuts in town. Don't let the crappy looking strip mall scare you away.
Off The Strip Las Vegas
The mexican place on Desert Inn is Lindo Michoacan. Pretty sure that location is still open. I believe the family runs multiple restaurants. There's Bonito Michoacan on S. Decatur, Viva Michoacan on W. Sunset & another Lindo way out on W. Flamingo. I've been to all but the W. Flamingo location, all good choices for mexican. Viva Mercados on S. Rainbow is my current favorite. BBQ - I like Lucille's at Green Valley ranch shops & Memphis BBQ - multiple locations.
Off The Strip Las Vegas
Rosemary's is still a solid choice. We also like Todd's Unique & Vintner Grill. Lotus of Siam is the best thai in town. If your adventurous check out Raku for amazing japanese small plates.
Zion National Park - any suggestions?
I second Zion Pizza & Noodle, pizza's & brews hit the spot after a long hike. For breakfast we like Oscar's. I also recommend the Desert Pearl Inn...riverside rooms are awesome.
Raku - Las Vegas
It's getting national attention now..http://www.eatinglv.com/2009/02/james-beard-awards-restaurant-and-chef-semifinalists-2009/
Another great addition to the Vegas dining scene.
Best Appetizers in Vegas
Had a great meal at B&B recently. Just stick with the pastas, beef cheek ravioli, mint love letters, etc.
Origin India Restaurant - Las Vegas
I think it's the best Indian restaurant in Las Vegas. Great tasting menus. Reading westie's post makes me want to go again, soon.
What's Open Late in Las Vegas Chinatown?
If you're still up at 4am, stop by Ronald's Donuts & get a box to go. Easily the best donut shop in town.
One night in Vegas
If you are going to Lotus of Siam for Lunch, don't bother with the buffet order off the menu & you will be happy. My favs include drunken noodle sea bass, salmon panang, thai beef salad, Sai Oua (northern style sausage, amazing!), nam kao tod (crispy rice w/sour sausage), & crispy duck with chili mint and the German Rieslings.
What's Open Late in Las Vegas Chinatown?
I also recommend Raku amazing food. Open Mon-Sat 6pm-3am

las vegas westside
Vintner Grill is great & just down the street from Red Rock casino. Agave is a good mexican place, basically across the street from the casino (killer margaritas & guacamole). Sen of Japan is our go to local sushi place. Rosemary's is still a great choice. Heard good things about Hachi & T-Bones chophouse in Red Rock. And finally Nora's wine bar & Marche Bacchus for your vino fix.
Tapas in Las Vegas?
Firefly is very good. Heard good things about RE Tapas, but haven't been yet.
Salt Lake City Restaurants?
On a recent trip we liked Acme Burger company & Red Iguana (worth the trip & the wait for a seat!)
