Good italian in SoHo/NoHo

Well, it's for my husband (49) and his father (74) so nowhere ridiculously trendy or really loud. Price is not really an issue if the food is worth it, but the reservation is for next Thursday so a table would need to be available on fairly short notice. Northern/Southern doesn't really matter. Service is important - my FIL appreciates good service. I'm trying to keep them in the general area of Soho as they are meeting friends at a cigar bar after dinner nearby. I will check out the two recommendations above. Welcome any others or feedback on the two I mentioned in my previous post. Thanks again!

Good italian in SoHo/NoHo

Hi,
Have been looking for a good italian restaurant in the SoHo/NoHo area for my husband and his father. Right now I'm looking at Osteria Morini and L'Apicio, so would welcome any feedback on these, but am also open to suggestions for others!! Thanks vm!

Moderate priced Murray Hill area French or Italian

Thanks for the suggestions. Once I have the turkey in the oven I am going to sit down and review. If anyone has additional suggestions, they would certainly be appreciated. Thanks so much - always find a gem or two when asking Chowhound folks.

Moderate priced Murray Hill area French or Italian

Hi,
Will be in town with my husband and two kids (15 and 13) this Friday and Saturday. Staying in Murray Hill area and am looking for reasonably priced French or Italian . Does not have to be within walking distance as I'm actually not sure where we'll be around dinner time, but will probably be making our way back from shopping, sightseeing around that timeframe. Would love somewhere that I would not need reservations, since I'm not sure exactly what our itinerary will be.
Thanks!

20th Anniversary Dinner in Philly

It is a Saturday night, so I think most should be open - already booked, well, that's definitely possible.... Budget - I always shy away from this because I feel that when I include a specific range, people EXCLUDE possibilities. Let's just say that I could afford the higher end for this special occasion ($65 and up per person)but I would prefer not to do that this time as we are spending quite a bit on the vacation. Somewhere in the $35 - 50 range, but please don't exclude a recommendation if it falls below or above that. (Actually the lower price range for great food and a nice atmosphere would be most welcome!!) No other food restrictions, although my son is a bit of a picky eater so if they have some bland options, that would help. We'd also like to stay in the city - no Philly suburbs. Hope that helps give you a better idea... Thanks again!

20th Anniversary Dinner in Philly

Hi,
Am looking for a special spot to enjoy an anniversary dinner with my husband in Philly. We're celebrating with a lengthy vacation in a few weeks, but wanted a special night out on the actual night. We're coming in from the NJ suburbs, and will have both of our kids with us (ages 12 and 14). Trying to stay away from anything solely devoted to seafood as both my son and I are not big fans. Nothing touristy and doesn't have to be ultra high end. Good food with a nice atmosphere is what we are looking for. Any recommendations?

Blue Peach Cafe - Manasquan NJ

Hi - we were there on July 3rd (same day you posted!) and had a really nice brunch. We had 6 people, and everyone enjoyed their meals - I had a greek omelet - it was fantastic. Mom had a chicken salad wrap and loved it, husband had one of the specials and said it was great. So I'd recommend giving it a try.

Restaurants everyone loves--except you

Count me in too. Been to Balthazar twice, both times was totally unimpressed. Had dinner at Pastis one night recently and enjoyed the food and the ambiance much more.

Reasonable midtown west restaurant for 2 out of town convention attendees

Wonderful - I'm going to have them check all of the suggestions out - and I just noticed that it is Restaurant Week in NY - so they may be able to stretch their $$ if they're OK with a prix fixe. Any other suggestions out there?

Reasonable midtown west restaurant for 2 out of town convention attendees

Hi Spiritchaser - I would probably say anywhere in the 30 - 50 dollar range per person (dinner and one drink?). I"m actually looking for my husband and brother-in-law. I used to live in NY, and we go back about twice a year, but my husband is not too comfortable navigating the city without me, so I think they'd prefer to go somewhere within walking distance or within a short cab ride. They go to this same convention every year and have hit most of the better steakhouses in the city, and a few of the better restaurants, so they're really looking for some good food, and not to spend a fortune this time. They both like Italian, seafood, French, American fare, probably nothing too ethnic...
Thanks!!

Reasonable midtown west restaurant for 2 out of town convention attendees

Hi - Looking for some reasonable dinner places for two guys attending a convention at the Javits Center and staying at the Westin in Times Square. Both are from out of town, so probably won't venture too far from the hotel....
Thanks!
