***my name is wicks--we had our wedding a few weeks ago and for this caterer i would give the food 5 stars and the service 1. the administrative staff returned about 1/3 of all my phone calls, the property owner set up and broke down most of the chairs and tables for my wedding and reception, (even tho the caterer charged about $2200 for "service"), and the gratuity was charged on the whole bill not just for the food and drink. food was outstanding, but i would not recommend aquilante to anyone!

Emile Henry butter dish and moldy butter?

hi i recieved an emile henry butter pot for my wedding shower and was sooooooo excited to use it however within a week the butter was growing fuzz! i followed all the directions, changing the water every couple days and the butter was used almost daily. im assuming that my kitchen gets too hot in the summer and that was what caused the growth. can this product only be used in the winter time? am i doing something wrong? i used regular unsalted butter from costco (kirkland brand). has anyone else experienced this problem and what did you do about it? thanx in advance :)

House of Tea in Philly? Total disappointment to anyone else?

I drink probably 2 cups of loose tea a day although I wouldnt consider myself an expert, pretty experienced with tea. Generally I drink red tea or mate cuz im not very attentive and cannot stand oversteeped, bitter tea. I went to this establishment about 2-3 years ago to give it a try and got total rude service and decided I would never go back. Ive since moved to the city and was looking online for Mariage Freres Marco Polo tea (the only black tea I have ever really enjoyed). The House of Tea came up in my searching so I thought i would give it another try. I always read good things about this place how it is a family business and so forth. So my fiance and I went down there after eating awesome food at the 4th st deli for lunch and I bought 4oz of Marco Polo tea.
No rudeness but not what i would call pleasantness either. I thought it smelled weird but that it was just me because I hadnt had it in awhile. I made it a few times and suspected it was fake. I bought the Mariage Freres Marco Polo at Williams Sonoma (which I shouldve just done in the first place) and made it to confirm my suspicions--apparently they just have their own blend which is allegedly comparable to the famously delicious original tea from France! I guess this is not technically illegal but a huge disappointment just the same.

Has anyone else had an experience like this or am I just being overly critical?

Beneluxx Tasting Room

sorry i was not more specific. we ordered 1oz of the lamb chopper, garroxta, taleggio, and mahon cheeses. For wine we ordered an oz of pinot grigio, and a riesling, a pinor noir and a brunello. the quality of everything was excellent dont misunderstand me, i just wouldve preferred a little guidance or suggestion. They do have one page in the back of the menu which pairs wines with cheeses, but for the average customer i think the whole experience could be made a little less intimidating to maximize the appeal of the place.

Beneluxx Tasting Room

i went last friday with my fiance and was extremely disappointed. the menu--(if u cant tell from the previous post) is completely overwhelming. i was really anticipating this place since it has glass rinsers built into the tables so i was ready to try some new stuff. there are no suggested samplers, like try 5 reds for $30 or something, cheese sampler etc. i understand that they want you to get to know what you like but it doesnt seem worth the hassle. We ordered two whites and two reds, which are sold in 1oz quantities or a glass, we opted for the ounce just for the fun of it, an ounce is less then you would get at a tasting at a winery in case you were wondering. its about a mouthful and not even enough to share. and we ordered four different cheeses to try--this was about $20 for four mouthfuls of wine and four pieces of cheese on a cracker. your better off buying a bottle of wine for $20 try even if you dont like it, its still worth it. might be worth the trip to try the cheese but not for the wine imho.

Food Processor/Blender Combo

i have this and it works great! i have space issues and cannot buy both separately but i love this! i probably use mine once every 2 wks or so and have used the shredder disc for cutting veggies which is so convinient especially for thinly sliced onions. i have made smoothies in the blender and if you dont use fruit right out of the freezer its fine. let the fruit sit out for like 1/2 hr and its good. i bought it because i got braces so i made quite a few smoothies...

Food Processors

Cuisineart makes a combination blender/food processor which I just bought and I love it. Same motor, different tops. The food processor cup is probably about 3-4 cup capacity, which is adequate for most meals. It was $80 at costco but I think have seen it at target/walmart also. good luck!

midtown changes

I met her when she was in wayne and the tea is awesome but she is a little nutzo. I think its all the antioxidants in the tea cuz the people at teavana (KOP) are super hyper also from drinking tea all day. The heaven rooibos tea is the best desert tea ever! chocolate mint -- as satisfying as having a cookie.
