Sounds like a cliche, but it was at Spago in the early 80's. Unforgettable food and atmosphere. I was starstruck for life!

My own concoction called "The Valenti" - equal parts sweet Vermouth and soda in a highball over ice, slice of orange. Absolutely the best aperitif. Named after my wife's Italian aunts in the Bronx.
