Dinner close to Yonge and Dundas
How about The Senator on Victoria St., just south of Dundas - practically across the street from the Canon.

Hi Hounds, Best Pancakes Period?? Light & Fluffy with Fresh Berries??
I absolutely love the mixed berry vegan pancakes at Fresh. I've found them to be moist, flavourful, and quite filling.

went to Ki yesterday, where they did indeed have blue cheese olives - darned tasty :)
ISO: dirty vodka martini with blue-cheese-stuffed olives
Funny you should say that, Suzanne, because I heard of it from someone in Chicago - maybe it's a Chicago thing, then?
I've had one report that Ki serves them - have yet to verify....

ISO: dirty vodka martini with blue-cheese-stuffed olives
Hey, 'Hounders:
Can anyone recommend a bar in Toronto (preferably downtown) that will serve a dirty vodka martini accompanied by olives stuffed with blue cheese?
Thanks,
Jen V.
Tried-and-true brunch in U of T area?
I second the reco for L'Espresso Bar Mercurio on the SE corner of Bloor & St. George.
Also check out DT Bistro over at Harbord & Brunswick: http://www.dtbistro.com/
Not too sure about vegetarian options at either location, though...
(je veux) Tourtière
It's on Summerhill Ave., a bit south of St. Clair, east of Mt. Pleasant, so a bit of a hike from Yonge St.

Sunday brunch near Scotiabank/Paramount Theatre (Queen West)
about 5-10 minutes walk to the southwest, there's Le Select Bistro on Wellington, west of Spadina - they're open at 10.30 on Sunday
Breakfast in the Annex?
I would be more inclined to characterize the service at The Green Room as snotty and arrogant rather than slow -- it's not so much "hanging out" as "left hanging" while the waitstaff willfully ignores you.
Granted, I only went there once, but I'm in no hurry to go back...
Breakfast in the Annex?
Seconding the reco's for Ezra's Pound, Dessert Trends, and By The Way Cafe. Also like Insomnia, although I find the quality has slipped in the last year or so - it's still good, but it used to be much better. The Pour House is fine too.
I also like L'Espresso Bar Mercurio, at the southeast corner of Bloor & St. George - not much in the way of sweet stuff on the menu, but what they do have is good.
