Restaurants & Bars Featured in HBO's The Wire

Hmm..I thought it was Clement and Jackson??

tortilleria sinaloa Fells Point

There are probably 6-8 seats along a counter in an L-shape. Nothing wrong with bringing a 2 1/2 year old there, everyone is extremely friendly... but space is really tight. I don't recall seeing any high-chairs or anything. I don't think I have been there at lunch time during the week, but I assume it would get really busy then based on how busy I have seen it at other times. The place is great. Find an off-time, bring the child, and you will love it. They make/bag their own tortilla chips too which are great.

Sports bar for Saints games in Baltimore area?

Don't Know Tavern on Light St, just North of Fort Ave usually has every game on. Great food too.

Breakfast near Baltimore

Rallo's on Fort Ave is an easy on/off from I-95 - standard greasy spoon with good prices and friendly service. Broadway Diner on Eastern Ave is also a great breakfast place (lunch and dinner too) and right off 95.

Looking for Chinese scallion cake in Baltimore County

Jumbo Seafood in Pikesville has them. They come with string beans + chicken or beef and what I believe is some sort of plum sauce on the side (you can probably get them with just vegetables too). I don't know what is considered a good scallion cake or not as this is the only place I have had them, but they taste great to me.

September 2010 rehearsal dinner in Baltimore

I recomend Red Star. We had our rehearsal dinner there in July. It can definitely handle 20-25 (we had ~40) in the private upstairs room. There is a bar up there and the food was excellent. There is also a free large parking lot right across the street.

Man Vs. Food

Literally North East, MD. It is a town (nowhere near Baltimore, it is in Cecil County).

http://www.city-data.com/city/North-East-Maryland.html

On the Man vs. Food website is says this: "Episode Description
Adam’s search for the best grub in the US takes him to Baltimore, MD, for some pit beef, blue crabs and the Great Steak Challenge."

On my DVR guide it says he does the Great Steak Challenge at Steak and Main.... http://www.mysteakandmain.com/About_Us.html

Man Vs. Food

Well, if you think Annapolis and DC are not one and the same, how about Baltimore and North East, MD? After watching the DC episode I looked up the Baltimore episode. The challenge appears to take place in North East - not many places out there more different from Baltimore than North East.

Dog friendly patio in Baltimore

Yup, that's it. I felt their food was awful, but the taste of my food seemed to improve somewhat when they threw a treat to my dog.

Dog friendly patio in Baltimore

I do not know about a place in Hampden. The Todd Conners suggestion below is probably a good one if you are looking to walk around after though, it's right in Fells... there is also a coffee shop around the corner that has a doggie-door for people with their dogs to get served and tables outside.

Dog friendly patio in Baltimore

Regi's in Federal Hill on Light St has a dog-friendly patio. Metropolitan on Charles St has ~4 tables outside (and both of these have pretty good food imho, although I know some on here disagree). Shucker's in Fells Point has a dog-friendly patio but I haven't been. Little Havana on Key Highway allows dogs on their patio too.

Places to study/drink coffee in Baltimore

Check out Koba Cafe in the 600 block of Fort, between Federal Hill and Locust Point. The food is mediocre, but the coffee and other drinks are good. They converted the entire upstairs into a very comfortable and usually quiet sitting area with couches, chairs, tables, etc. Free WiFi too.

Luca's Cafe in Locust Point

I live at Fort & Jackson and they have delivered to me multiple times and will take a credit card ver the phone. I recommend the ham & pineapple.

Is there any good Pizza delivery in Fed Hill?

I second Zella's. By far the best delivery I have been able to get in the area. I live at Fort and Jackson and they delivered to us (and pretty quickly - and took a credit card over the phone).

Bawlmer: Eddie's market sandwich mayo/please help!!!!

My guess is Saval. Although they put out a decent extra lean brisket, I never thought of them making exceptionally tasty condiments...

kosher caterer in Westchester

Thanks for the suggestions, it's greatly appreciated!

kosher caterer in Westchester

I am looking for a kosher caterer for an 80th birthday party brunch in my sister's home. We were hoping to have an omelet station in addition to various platters, as well as some sugar-free desserts. There will be around 50 people. Any help/guidance will be greatly appreciated!

Federal Hill rant

IMHO Nick's Fish House is a horrnedously executed great idea. The location is cool, the scene is cool, the food is unforgivably bad. Been there twice. First time voluntarily and wasn't going back. Begrudgingly went again for a friend's wedding shower type party, and the food was every bit as bad as I had remembered it. Don't go!!!!!

Phila Cheesesteak on the way home to NYC after Phil Art Museum??

I highly recommend Jim's. It's at the corner of 4th and South.

Mezze Prices

Ate there last night. A reasonable dinner with a drink or two each will probably only cost you ~$60-70. Well worth it.
