Is this one-day Napa itinerary crazy?
After much debate over Napa vs. Sonoma, a girlfriend and I have decided to visit Napa in mid-April. The goals of our trip are sight-seeing, drinking interesting wines (no varietal preference), eating good food, and having fun. We will be staying in San Fran and are driving up to Napa for the day. Is this itinerary overly ambitious with all the driving involved? Is there anything we should change, add or leave out?
*Start with a very early (8 - 9 am) breakfast at Boon Fly Cafe
*Tasting at Domaine Carneros
*Drive up to Sterling (primarily for experience but will also taste)
*Tasting at Schramsberg
*Tasting at Duckhorn
*Drive down to Reynolds Family for a tasting
*Dinner at Bottega (5:45 pm reservation was the best we could get)
Sonoma Food and Wine Suggestions, Please
Thank you for the information - the links you provided were very helpful. My primary goal is to have a unique experience that balances tasting room atmosphere, setting, and wine quality. We will likely stay in the Dry Creek area, and are considering biking between vineyards, so suggestions for closely-situated vineyards would be great.
Sonoma Food and Wine Suggestions, Please
A girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Sonoma in mid-April and are looking for winery and restaurant suggestions. For food we are hoping to go to the girl + the fig but are open to other suggestions, and we are definitely visiting The Ridge winery but have no other definite plans. Any suggestions for smaller, single-production wineries are greatly appreciated! We are hoping to avoid the more commercialized, Kendall Jackson-esque places and are hoping for something more intimate.
Superior Grill?
Superior is basic Tex-Mex but has great Margaritas and a great patio. It's always a good place to start a night out (at one point had 3 for 1 happy hour specials even on weekends) and is a good meeting place since its on the streetcar line and kind of in between uptown and downtown.

Best Tasting Menu - August, Stella! or Elsewhere?
I am hoping to treat my husband to a tasting menu with wine pairings on our next trip to New Orleans in mid-January. I am considering August and Stella! but am really open to suggestions. The catch is that he does not eat beef or pork ( but will eat any poultry or fish/seafood), so I am hoping that the restaurant will accommodate his unfortunately limited palate. Any suggestions or endorsements?

Girls Weekend in Charleston
I'm planning a girls trip to Charleston for women between 28 and 31. Does anyone have any dinner recommendations for a reasonably-priced (entrees between $15 and $22) restaurant with good atmosphere somewhere in the downtown area?
EAT on Dumaine Big Enough for Party of 10?
I'm hosting a bridal brunch for about 10 women in a few weeks. I planned on doing it at EAT, but they don't take reservations. Can they accommodate 10 people on a Saturday morning? Would it be best to go at 11 am or 1 pm?
Two nights in NOLA - August, Stella, or Elsewhere?
Two girlfriends (who have never been to New Orleans) and I will be in NOLA next Thursday and Friday. We were thinking of August or Stella on Thursday and Coquette (based on reviews from this board) on Friday. Since we're still on the fence for Thursday, I'm looking for suggestions. I'm especially looking for good food downtown with a great atmosphere, not too stuffy or touristy, and not too expensive (i.e. less than $50/pp including dinner and at least 2 drinks). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Suggestions for Food and Drink Weekend in October
I'm bringing friends (3 girls ages 27 to 30) to New Orleans for the first time, and I'm looking for the following suggestions:
Best Trendy Place for Dinner/Drinks:
Best Place to Listen to Live Jazz:
Trendiest Bar:
Best Budget-Friendly Dinner Restaurant:
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!
House on Bayou Road/Former Indigo Restaurant
Does anyone have any pictures or comments on the event venue at the House on Bayou Road, which was formerly Indigo Restaurant? I'm thinking of having a rehearsal dinner there for between 35-45 people. Apparently the catering is done by the cooking school there, or it can be outsourced. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good caterer who can do crawfish and Louisiana favorites, plus offer full service?
Rehearsal Dinner with Boiled Crawfish
I am looking for venues in New Orleans to host a rehearsal dinner for between 40 and 50 people in May 2010, preferably with boiled crawfish. I would prefer the venue to provide crawfish as one of many dining options for the non-mudbug lovers. We're hoping for a venue with an atrium, balcony, courtyard, garden, or other outside option, but we still want it to be intimate (i.e. - not in a park pavillion). Any ideas?
Charlotte Catering
We're hosting a small gathering of about 10 people, and I'm looking for a recommendation on a catered dinner. Any recommendations? Because we live very close to Uptown, I'd prefer to order from somewhere within the metropolitan area rather than the suburbs.
Walking Distance in Garden District
You'll be near the street car route, so you should take that uptown to Carrolton & go to Jacques-Imo's on Oak. I would not recommend any of the restaurants your hotel listed. Superior Grill on Louisiana & St. Charles has great Margarita's, Dick & Jenny's on Tchoupitoulas & Napolean is a great, I heard Ignatius on Magazine has good "creole" food, The Acme Oyster House on Iberville in the quarter has the best poboys in town. The Columns Hotel on St. Charles near Louisiana has the best bloody mary's and brunch in town, Bluebird Cafe on Prytania also has a nice brunch, and Sulleys on Magazine as well.
Parents visiting Charlotte, NC
We ended up going to 300 East, but I appreciate the suggestions. I went to Alexander Michael's this weekend and it was great.
Parents visiting Charlotte, NC
My parents are visiting this weekend from Louisiana, and I want to take them to a restaurant with good but reasonably-priced food and a comfortable atmosphere. I want to stay away from major national chains and will probably not go the Cajun route--I want to expose them to something new. I'm open to all cuisines and any area of town. Any ideas?
Fun atmosphere/good food Charlotte, NC
I've lived in Charlotte for almost a year and still haven't found many places with a fun, young atmosphere and good food where I feel comfortable (i.e--not cheesy or overly pretentious). I'm from New Orleans and have lived in Charleston, SC, and Manhattan, so I'm used to towns full of positive energy and an eclectic vibe. I'm a "young professional" looking for a "hip" place that's not overly trendy, a real (rather than fabricated and forced) atmosphere, and good food. So far I've found places I like here, but no where I love. Any suggestions?
