Dinner Reco's in Whistler for a group of Chowhounds?

RimRock is a MUST. But make reservations well in advance as this place is very popular on weekends. Sushi Village is always a safe bet and by far the best sushi in Whistler.

Best Crabcakes in Vancouver?

Looking for the best place to order crabcakes in vancouver?

Jamaican Patty Shop-- Vancouver

This place is OK - not great but not horrible. The only place I have found is in Port Moody a place called Rehanah's Roti & Trinidadian. Great roti's, and beef, chicken a vegi patties. Worth the drive out there

Crunchy California Roll - VANCOUVER

I have a friend who is searching for a crunchy cali roll - either tempura flash fried or just rolled in tempura flakes....any suggestions?

Chung Dam - vancouver

Has anyone heard about this place?
What is it - where is it?

Omakase in Vancouver: OG vs Ajisai vs Tojo

For straight up sushi for sure AJI SAI. This place is true japanese style, no front like Tojo's. But then again Tojo's does serve fantastic food if you can get around the big headed chef himself. I can't do Tojo's anymore due to his annoying ways. I promise you will not be disappointed with Aji Sai (go early to get a seat at the bar as they get busy right at 5pm)

Bostonhound presents Van sushi mystery

they open at 5pm so go early rather then late.
they are also open for lunch 11:30 -1:45.....
enjoy!!

Bostonhound presents Van sushi mystery

It has to be AJI SAI - I am certain. It is located ojust off of West 41st (west 42nd and arbutus) By far the best sushi in Vancouver for an outstanding price!

Whistler, BC in early August - help? [Moved from Canada board]

Rimrock is a for sure must - by far the best restaurant in whistler. The food, atmosphere, presentation is amazing. Be sure to make reservations.

For sushi I woulod hit up Sushi Village - great atmosphere, fresh fish and wonderful selection of rolls. Go early to avoid the wait.

Splitz Burgers, Vancouver: tower o' beef

Splitz is by far the best addtion to the Vancouver scene - we have been hitting this spot up in Whistler for years. By far the best options at "create your own burger" and a good under $10 meal. A must if you like burgers and fries! HIghlights would be: fresh toppings such as cucumber, salsa, humus, onions, back bacon not to mention the splitz sauce!

Vancouver: Omakase for lunch?

Save you sushi for seattle - there is the BEST sushi place called SHIRO's down near Pike PLace. Reservations a must or go early to get a seat at the bar. By far the freshest fist in the Pacific Northwest.

If you have to do lunch sushi in Vancouver then I would second that for Yoshi's on denman. Atmosphere is kind if lacking but the food and presentation of dishes is great.

Good Eats in Whistler?

-Rimrock - by far the best place in town. Reservation a must. Wonderful atmosphere and even better food.
-Sushi Village is by far the best spot for Sushi.
-Prtobello (in the Fairmount) has a great sandwich / soup combo

ORGANIC EATS SEATTLE

We are headed to Seattle next week and are looking for healthy organic options for breakfast & lunch - any must go to spots?

Best Bar dining in Vancouver

For your Izakya tour I would do: Gyoza King, Guu and Kingyo - all amazing. Start at GK - then work your way west down Robson to Guu and then further west down Robson to denman where you will find Kingyo - it will be by far ou best eating on your trip! Enjoy.

Lin's (Vancouver BC, pictures)

Where is LIN's located?

La Buca (Vancouver)

Where is La Buca located?

Toshi - (sushi) - 16th and Main Vancouver

Agree we will never be back. Made the mistake of giving this place one last try (as our friends rave about it) We went on a Thursday night - busy as usual, why I am not sure. Seems to be the "cool" place to go and been seen but the food was anything but. Hard rice and very fishy fish - dried, no tase tuna rolls and the toro wasn't even tuna...well it didn't look or taste like tuna! Ther service was not only bad but they did their best to rush us out.

Whistler for Valentine's Day?

Mongolie Grill - not a nice place for VDAY. Food quality is right up there with Mall Food Court quality. Can be a nice cheap place but not a place I would recommend....Whistler has so many better options.

Sunday night sushi for one in Vancouver

If you are staying downtown then for sure go to YOSHI on Denman and Gorgia Street.
By far the best sushi in the downtown area.

Authentic home-style chapati in Vancouver

Have you tried East is East? They have a fantastic menu (mostly organic). They have a nice thin roti shell. All in all it is a great little spot.

Chiso Japanese - Seattle

Has anyone been to Chiso Japanese in Freemont Seattle?
Their website looks like they offer a nice selection of food.
Any feedback?

TARTLETS - North Vancouver. It is a new place that uses all natural and can do anything you want. It is fantanstic!!

economical to moderately priced restaurants at Whistler

Sushi Ya
Samuri Sushi
Alpine Cafe (alpine market)
Portobello (best lunch combo in the village)
Amami Chinese

Pre-hockey game on the Red Mile, Calgary

What about at the DOME, there are a few options, that way you can park, beat the crowds and be there for the start of the game.

Duttons Lounge - opens 2 hours prior to each game.
Avison Young Club that serves meals prior to each game. It is buffet style
Saddleroom restaurant - open prior to the game

4 hour layover in YVR - Where to lunch?

Hands down head to AJI SAI sushi bar on west 42nd. It would be about a $15 cab ride and they are open for lunch on Sat from 11:45 - 2pm.

Ichibankan - Vancouver

So I found a place DT Vancouver just off Robson that is open over the holidays. Ikibankan Sushi - any feedback on this place? Thanks in advance.
