Looking for Bougatsa in NY

Thank you all. I am getting hungry just thinking about it! I live in Seattle and there aren't many Greek bakeries here. I plan to try a few of these recommendations. Also thank you for the links to Molyvos and Kellari, a nice Greek dinner would be great as well.

Looking for Bougatsa in NY

Hello,
I will be in New York later this week for a few days. I am Greek and would love to find some good Greek food and specifically BOUGATSA (vanilla custard wrapped in phyllo pastry). I am staying in Brooklyn but can travel. Also, is it worth going to Astoria for Greek food? I hear there is a large concentration of Greeks there, is that true? Many thanks!

Question about mango chutney in curry

This is my go to recipe for Chicken Curry. I have added red peppers and tomoatoes to it in the past. The mango chutney adds a nice sweet/spicy aspect to it.

Indian delivery in Fremont/Ballard?

I used to eat at Quazi in Fremont and they used to deliver. Looking at their website, they may not deliver anymore but might be a good take-out option for you.

We have since moved to Greenwood and Kalia up here delivers. http://www.kaliacuisine.com/

Located in Fremont despite efforts to not be...

Quazi has a great Indian lunch buffet. For Thai, I like usually like Kwanjai but also go to Thai Chilles Paste because I think they have better Phad Thai.

Malay Satay Hut

Agreed, the Roti is a must as an appetizer. I also love the tofu with mango, their green beans, and how they do a whole fried fish.

The search for Korean BBQ continues...

I have been to Ka Won a few times and have enjoyed it very much. The have a wonderful assortment of panchan and the meat has always been of very good quality. Their grills are gas but did not ruin the flavor of the meat for me. I think we had to ask for lettuce once but can't remember if they just brought it along with everything else the last time we went.
Good luck and report back on what you find!

Q about reservations

Restaurants generally schedule reservations based on the amount of time they assume parties will stay. It’s hard to say if the party before you overstayed their allotted time or if the restaurant didn't leave enough time to finish an average service. If this is a one time thing, I think it is sometimes unavoidable.

I have not been to the place in question but I think the hostess could have made the situation better by offering you each a glass of wine while you wait or something like that. Again, I am not sure if this would have been possible.

Also, if they had a bar and the other group was really pushing the limits of how long to stay, maybe the restaurant could have had the group ahead of you take their after party to the bar.

Best Seattle Indian Buffet?

Quazi in Fremont has a great lunch buffet.
