Just Back From New Orleans

Just returned from a 3 night stay in New Orleans. Had two wonderful dinners and one so so.

The first night we had dinner at Stella! I loved the Gnocchi & Duck 5 Ways. Service and atmosphere were wonderful.

The second night we ate at Marigny Brasserie - I was not thrilled with the food or the service.

The last night had dinner at NOLA and again we were very happy with our choice both in terms of the food & service.

For one lunch we ate at Oak Alley as it fit in with our plans. Lunch was pleasant especially on the enclosed porch more for the location & ambience than for the food itself (Chicken Gumbo & Hot Ham Po Poor combo).

The second lunch was the Jazz Buffet at The Court of Two Sisters. While the buffet gave us a change to try a number of foods we had not had otherwise I thought the quality was a bit uneven and the musicians a bit tired and disinterested.

3 Nights at Le Richelieu in French Quarter

Thanks for all the input. I was looking at one dinner at Muriels and one dinner at Stella! I'm still undecided as to the other dinner. I would like someplace truly New Orleans and different than the first two (maybe with music if possible) (any recommendations?)

One lunch at Napoleons and maybe one at the Oak Alley or a place near Oak Alley &/or Laura Plantation (any recommendations?) One Breakfast at the hotel and one at Glover Grille.

Thanks

3 Nights at Le Richelieu in French Quarter

It will be our first time in New Orleans. We are arriving on Monday February 18 in the afternoon and leaving Thursday before noon. We will be there for 3 dinners 2 lunches and three breakfasts.

We are staying at the Le Richelieu in the French Quarter and will have a car.

I was thinking of one dinner at Stellas. For breakfast I was thinking we might eat at the Hotel Cafe but I'm open to places near the Hotel.

Any suggestions on places we should eat at or expereince?

Thanks

Marty
