Gettysburg -- read carefully

Distlefink used to be good..........when Sandoe's ran it back in the 60's!!!! Now, it's freakin' awful. Farnsworth House..........OVERRATED....Dobbin and Herr's pretty good....Ernie's of course for hot dogs and fries with gravy....Dino's and Tommy's good subs....

the 40-year-old cheesesteak virgin

Jim's, Pat's (all of a sudden the purists are calling this a tourist trap----probably because it gets on the Food and Travel Channels. Untrue....still makes a good steak), Tony's, Steve's and Della's and the Reading Terminal Market has a good one, too....this is all opinion.......personally, I like mine with whiz.

Had a very good hot dog in Gettysburg....

at a place called Ernie's Texas Lunch....when his Dad ran it, it was Charlie's Texas Lunch. Been there since the 50's. Dogs are cooked on a flat top grill, right in front of the window. Chili, onions and mustard is the most requested. Hot dogs snap when you bite into them....the French Fries with gravy makes a good accompaniment. Very good place to go if you have the munchies....

Cheez Whiz Question...

Jim's on South is my personal favorite----and YES, I always get mine with whiz. Guess it's an acquired taste. Pat's is not a tourist trap for crying out loud!!!!
