Best meal I ever ate:

Homemade chicken mole at Su Casa in Fennville Michigan after a long day of brush clearing, then Lake Michigan swimming and sun-broiling.

My current drink of choice:

red red wine

never have a day job again.

savory rosemary/parmesan shortbreads

My favorite comfort food:

Any form of pasta: spaghetti and meatballs, homemade mac and cheese, all the heartstoppers....

My top 5 favorite restaurants:

1) Su Casa, Fennville Michigan (2) The Admiral, Ashville, NC (3) Martini's, Kalamazoo, MI (4) Early Girl, Asheville, NC (5) Shawarma King, Kalamazoo, MI (also seriously missing Rasa Ria in Kalamazoo's down-home Malay and Singaporean comfort food!)

My most tattered cookbooks:

An old Fannie Farmer, alittle Craig Claiborne's cooking basics paperback, my great-grandmother's hand-me-down "A Way To A Man's Heart Is Through His Stomach settlement cookbook" (not worn as much from my use as by previous generations...although I'm getting very intrigued by some of the recipes offered therein!), REGIONAL AMERICAN CLASSICS from California Culinary Academy (bought for $2 on a clearance table when I was first really getting into cooking), my mom's old copy of the gingham Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook, and quickly joining the ranks: THE FLAVOR BIBLE
