I agree on the Lobster Ravioli....it was not good at all. Very disapointing.
Childhood foods you would *totally* eat now...
My mom would never let us have junk in the house. Occasionally when we would go to the commissary she would let us get powdered sugar donuts or fritos and bean dip. The trick was they could not come into the house, so we had to eat all we wanted of them in the car on the ride home from the commissary. Somehow I think this did more harm than good. We just learned to buy the junk and just eat it all at once so it wasn't sitting around as evidence.
Childhood foods you would *totally* eat now...
We only got frozen dinners when we had a baby sitter. I loved the turkey dinner ones and thought they were so fancy when we got to have them. I also loved the Swanson chicken potpies dumped out on a plate with the bottom crust broken up into it...lots of pepper and cottage cheese when I got down to the top crust.

Butternut squash ravioli sauce
browned butter with sage and a bit of brown sugar....lots of parm. One of our faves!
How do you use Huy Fong Chili Garlic Sauce?
I marinated chicken tenders in coconut milk (small can), peanut butter (1/3 cup), brown sugar (2 tbsp), chili garlic sauce (2 tbsp), salt and pepper for dinner tonight. Grilled them with fresh veggies (zucchini and crookneck squash, red yellow and orange peppers, and sweet onion) and brushed some of the marinade on the veggies as well. Turned out really good.
Tulsa/Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
Hi, I am traveling to the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area for business the first week of January. I was looking for any suggestions on good restaurants to try for dinner (breakfast and lunch suggestions too if you got em). We will be there the whole week and wanted to get some decent food. I am open to try anything good. I am a bit of a foodie so I am not into chain restaurants, etc. Thanks so much.
Hey what's for Thanksgiving?
How do you do the carmelized onion/blue cheese tarts? That sounds great!
Brownies from a mix using applesauce instead of oil?
Using canned pumpkin works well and also has a lot of fiber in it so it's even better for you. I use a can of pumpkin with my cake mixes instead of the eggs, oil, water. This works great.
Thanksgiving: What do you make ahead?
Can you share your recipe for cranberry sauce with the crystalized ginger? Thank you.
Salad with Thanksgiving dinner -- should I bother?
can you tell me how you do your balsamic glazed roasted onions? Thanks.
Strawberry Riesling Poundcake Dessert
My mom is looking for a recipe that she got from one of the wineries up in Napa. However, she lost the receipe. She remembers that the dessert was pound cake soaked in Riesling. The poundcake was layered with strawberries. Does anyone have any variations of this recipe or an idea of how it is made? Thanks for your help.
Popping your own popcorn
I second the coconut oil...it makes great popcorn....I also use it on corn on the cob when I grill it.
What's for dinner?
oh this sounds great...would you share your ceviche recipe, please?
Any awesome salmon marinade recipes??
I use fresh rosemary, soy sauce, brown sugar or honey, red pepper flakes, garlic and a good dijon mustard.
Recipes for my brother
I had my mouth wired shut for a whole summer and a broken jaw when I was in high school. I still have pins and wires in my jaw that you can see in x-rays. I lived on blended soups (these were the BEST), Jamba Juice (or Juice it Up or whatever one you have in your area), mashed potatoes with just about ANY sauce (cheese sauce, gravy, just about ANYthing Asian like Teriyaki - I loved that one), grits. I had a friend who thought she was doing me a favor and she would try to blend up all sorts of things for me to eat....and some things just aren't meant to be blended together. BLECH! Also, as gross as this is, please keep in mind that he can't brush the inside of his teeth. So, while tuna may have tasted good going down, it may not taste so good on the back of his teeth in a few days. I actually whined and complained enough about it that they finally put me back to sleep on day and brushed the inside of my teeth. They can not do this while you are awake...one little wrong move and you will totally rebrake your jaw so they can't chance it. Also, when the wires do finally come off, his jaw is going to be really stiff and he is going to be on soft foods for awhile. They day I got my jaw opened, my friends took me out for pizza...I couldn't even open my mouth enough to take a bite...soooo disapointing!
any secrets to a great tuna fish sandwich?
I take it out of the can and squeeze in my hand like you would with frozen spinach. I do not like watery tuna.
Sides to go with seared Ahi
sorry...it is going to be Asian-ish...she mentioned sesame oil and soy sauce...any ideas for the Ahi are appreciated as well!
Sides to go with seared Ahi
Hi, I am looking for some sides to make with seared Ahi. My sister, who knows how to cook NOTHING, swears she learned how to cook some fabulous seared ahi. She is coming out to visit and wants us to make it for my mom. I am the big cook but I have never made seared ahi...so I am a little worried since I won't be sure how to fix something if it goes wrong. But, I must have faith!!! Anyone have any great ideas for sides that we can make along with this meal? Thank you in advance.
Ideas for breakfast that can be made at home and taken to/eaten at work

Food Franchises That Don't Suck
Claim Jumper has gone WAYYYY down hill. I have been so disapointed the last several times I have gone there. I keep hoping it was just a fluke, but it is seriously lacking now.
Crock pots for something other than stew?
we do this same sort of thing...boneless skinless chicken breasts and some rotel or salsa and jalapenos. Shred the chicken when done. use for tacos, burritos, or taco salads, etc. So good.
Superbowl Sunday in one week..whatcha' makin'?
Can you please share your recipe for hot corn dip. I have been looking for one of these.

I went to a catholic all girls boarding school in Hawaii and we had spam everything in the cafeteria. I like it too...crispy!
