Richmond Hill - favs and foodie finds?
I went to Allusion last night and was very disappointed. Everything was bland and tasteless and is very expensive for what it's worth.
Definitely NOT recommended!
Help re: dim sum in Markham
Dun Huang has closed down for a couple months now and is vacant.

+ 1 on the decline of their dim sum. It hasn't been the same for me as well...maybe it's a temporary thing
Authentic Taiwanese Food in Toronto?
There is this little place/unit inside Metro that has pretty good Taiwanese food, (granted I haven't been to Taiwan before, but regardless), I really enjoy the food there. It's in between Asian Legend and the bun store. Check it out, although I'm not sure if they have 三杯雞 or not.
Looking for a Chinese reception venue in GTA
There was a similar topic a while back and this was my response...hope it helps...this was the thread:

Congrats, I'm actually in the process of looking at venues myself , and here are a few of my suggestions...
Ambassador - As one of the posters said, I would recommend Ambassador as well. Their food and service is excellent and you won't be disappointed. My brother had his wedding there and it was a great venue! However, the price can be pricey as well, depending on what you order. But, it was well worth it.
Dun Huang - According to my friend, they recently changed to a buffet format and are no longer doing banquets/dinners. They refunded her money and told her to go somewhere else. Not kidding.....so...not recommended.
Diamond - It's a nice place, been there once for a wedding. Food was alright, service was ok.... but as one of the posters said, there's this feeling to it which I didn't find right as well...just my 2 cents. Hilton is about a 5 mins drive.
La Rosa - Same owners as Ambassador and I think I might be holding my wedding here...so I might be a bit bias. A very good venue. 3 rooms to choose from. Service is excellent, food is pretty good as well. They have a Comfort Inn across the street (within walking distance) and a Delta Hotel about 2-4 mins drive. http://www.larosabanquethall.com is their website. As the manager told me, they are opening up a new venue at 407/Kennedy, called Markham Event Centre. I'm going to take a look there later on this/next week. No hotels nearby, but if you are interested, I can provide you with a contact. Let me know.
Once again, congrats and good luck with everything...let us know which one you choose! =D

hong kong style diners
Hey! Not sure if I understand what your needs are, but there are a lot of these around in the Scarborugh, Markham, Richmond Hill area. They're practically available if you step into any Chinese mall/plaza/strip, etc. Here are a couple suggestions:
1. Sun Sing See aka New City (at Peachtree Centre - Hwy 7 & Kennedy)
2. Gum Fung..err...Gold Phoenix (translation?) (2 locations..there's one on mccowan and raymerville and another one...which I prefer around Woodbine & Steeles )
3. Mai Chuen (Middlefield & McNicoll)
4. Richmond Court aka Nam Yuen (Times Square and in the plaza around South Park & Hwy 7)
Hope that helped.
Chinese Wedding Banquet Locations
Hey Mansze,
I actually did check out MEC last week, they had their first party there and they told me to go check it out. Very nice decor and atmosphere. As a result of such, my fiancee and i are still in the process of deciding between that or La Rosa. I'll be doing a tasting or something of that sorts in the next couple weeks. Will keep y'all posted. Shoot me an e-mail if you anything else from me.
Cheers,
DC
