Brooklyn-Casual place for Sat lunch near 18th Ave Station
Looking for a casual restaurant along 18th Ave strip -in the 60s block. With older diners -not very adventurous.Any suggestions?
Anyone with reviews of Jacob Worth?
Only had desserts -the apple cherry strudel and german chocolate cheesecake -and they were very good.
Suggestions for a Family Dinner near Harvard Square on a Friday night?
Second the recommendation for Henrietta's Table. Went for RW lunch last week and the food and service were outstanding. Could easily dine on just the wonderful bread basket-one of the best around. The restaurant (including patio area) is spacious and very comfortable for a large group. The food was very good, emphasizing seasonal local ingredients. The Taza chocolate pie was a wonderful gooey dessert choice. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size. The menu is varied -would appeal to many tastes. See menu:

After theatre dessert
We did late night after theater dessert at DB Bistro Moderne -very upscale setting. For a more modest setting but good food check out Scarlatto on 47th. Very reasonable prices and menu on website includes molten chocolate which was very good:

Midtown Brunch for starving artists
West Bank Cafe (W42nd) and Marseille (W44th) are two of my favorites. Interesting menu, reasonable prices, good service. One of my favorite brunches is the prix fixed at Cibo (2nd& 41st):$18.95 for 2 courses, 1 drink, muffin/banana bread basket, and coffee/tea. The food was very good with a variety of sweet and savory courses, See menu at www.cibonyc.com.

Lunch and Dinner....Downtown Boston Restaurants with 9 year old and 2 year old
Went to the historic Jacob Wirth on Stuart Street a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the place- good traditional foods- burgers, chowders, salads as well as German specialties. The desserts were excellent (apple cherry strudel and german chocolate cheesecake) and well priced. The dining room area is large with tables well spaced. See http://www.jacobwirth.com/ for lunch and dinner menu.
Breakfast in Manhattan
Was staying in that area last weekend and tried the Comfort Diner on 45th near 3rd Ave. The breakfast menu included traditional items and also more creative dishes- lemon ricotta pancakes, berry stuffed french toast, mexican omelet wrap. Prices were very reasonable.

affordable ( but still deliscious) brunch with drinks included?
In the midtown area and affordable is Cibo on 41st/2nd. Offers a nice $18.95 pre fixe brunch menu which includes 2 courses, drink, pastry basket, coffee/tea. . See menu at http://cibonyc.com/page/o17k/Brunch_Menu.html
Also Roberto Passon (www.robetopasson.com) on 9th Ave offers unlimited drink for $8. Entreees are in the $7-$10 range. A bit noisy and crowded. at brunch. Would reserve via Open Table to avoid the wait.
The Smith recs
Second the gnocchi- Would definitely split it with diners since it is sooooo rich!
ISO Lemon Ricotta Pancakes-Theater District
Thank you for directing me to the Find a Food search. I knew about that function but didn't think it was that specific- tried 'pancakes" but gave up slogging through that list. Love West Bank Cafe -was so disappointed when I went on a Saturday and the brunch menu (and those pancakes)not available. Had to settle for their pumpkin gnocchi...

Fall Feast Week in Nashua,NH Oct.19-23
Nashua,NH is holding its version of RW again in October. Info & some menus are posted on the website:
http://greatamericandowntown.org/feastweek.html
Last April we tried UNUMS where entrees are priced in the $25 range so the 3 course $25 deal in October is a good opportunity to try this restaurant. The starters and main entrees were good, desserts not so good, and the bread fantastic. The owner (who made a point of visiting each table) and servers were very welcoming.
CAKE! In Lexington
Stopped by this afternoon. Place was hopping with teens doing a cupcake eatoff. Oh to be young and able to eat all those sweets and fit into size 4 jeans! Place is super cute and the owner was very nice. Here are photos of the carrot cake, mocha, berries & gold, and midnigth delight. Cake is dense , not too sweet, and just enough frosting. Definitely worth the $2.
Breakfast or Brunch in Tudor City?
I agree with the Cibo recommendation. We went last November and everyone enjoyed their selections: butternut squash soup, mussels, pancakes, turkey/stuffing sandwich, scrambled eggs, etc. The muffin/banana bread basket was very good. Service was warm and friendly. They also allowed us to use the 20% off www.diningfever.com offer ( see website for details)so the $18.95 brunch including 1 drink & coffee/tea was a super bargain. Food was tasty, plentiful, and beautifully presented. While there check out the display in the nearby Daily News building.
"Fancy" dining near Chelmsford area
Went to Moonstones in Chelmsford for lunch last week and the food was creatively presented and reasonably priced ($10-$15 entrees). Higher prices for dinner but menu offers small plates.

I really enjoyed Perry St. Many choices in entree and starters plus an amuse bouche. The also offer $5 glass of wine for lunch. This chowhound write up inspired me to make a reservation:

Went to Mesa Grill a few years ago- you can order from the regular menu as well as the RW menu.Enjoyed the experience-food & service. Was very busy for lunch so definitely do reservations.
Keen's Bar Area Food - Any Good?
Had lunch in Keens Pub Area last fall and loved the hamburger. Asked for med rare and it was cooked perfectly as ordered. Thought it was a good price- $15 (with cheddar at no extra cost) and including lots of delicious fries. Also ordered their lime drink- very refreshing.Beautiful woodwork, interesting artifacts, make sure your go into the main restaurant check in area to take a look at the display of legendary smoking pipes.

Re: prefix 20.00 menu at fishtail = worth it?
We dined there this Sunday and it was quite good.We made an OpenTable reservation for 4 at 7pm and they graciously accomodated us when an exra person joined our party. We waited about 30 minutes and were seated upstairs. The place has a lot of energy, diverse crowd that night- young (teens and early 20s) to old, casual to upscale dress.Loved the vibrant decor. Fantastic pretzel bread (wish there was a doggy bag just for extra bread!).There were many choices on the 20.09 menu. Four choices for starters- we chose mediterranean salad(a bit vinagery and more cabbage slaw than other ingredients. Enjoyed the spring pea soup with shrimp. Five choices for the entrees including a nightly special of mahi mahi with stir fry vegs(mostly peppers), roast chicken, and swordfish with frites(very tasty). Three choices for dessert including a chocolate mousse topped with a fish cookie & a pineapple tart with coconut ice cream. Presented with a plate of small cookies to finish off the meal. A bowl of peanut brittle at the register was a tempting treat for our after dinner stroll. Service was friendly and efficient if a bit frentic in close quarters.I would definitley recommend trying the $20.09 menu despite news of chef changes. Many diners that night were also ordering the seafood tower (supplemental charge) and the cheesecake lollipop tree.
Financier--new bakery in midtown east
Any news yet? Will be in the city this weekend and staying nearby so looking forward to trying for early morning breakfast.

Stooped by today at this lovely bakery in Tyngsboro, MA. Nice selection of cookies including a chocolate Krackle, soft raspberry filled, and a spicy chocolate dipped. See photo.Turnovers, cakes, and pies are also offered. Limited hours so call ahead. Located just up the street from the Tyngsboro Bridge in a old house that include an antique shop.
