BDay dinner in Design District(Miami)

thanks for the suggestions so far. buena vista bistro looks great. what are the typical price points for entrees?

i honestly want to go to tap tap but due to it being in south beach, my parents might balk. the thing is, is that it's not like its on collins or anything so maybe they can be persuaded?

keep the rec's coming!

BDay dinner in Design District(Miami)

I'm looking for a good restaurant to celebrate my birthday tomorrow night, preferably in the DesignDistrict. My wife and I are staying in the Hilton Downtown and will be meeting my parents who are driving down from Boca Raton.

We don't really have the money to go to Michy's so we're looking for something a little less expensive. I don't really have a preference in ethniticity but wouldn't mind seafood. Also keep in mind that I forgot to bring any dress pants so I'll be wearing jeans. So I guess semi-casual would be the best.

I am willing to go elsewhere in Miami but my parents want to avoid South Beach. So I guess Coral Gables is a possibility as well as Coconut Grove.

Thanks in advance.

The annoying paradox of Florida produce

How about a truly local produce market in St. Pete/Pinellas? I'd even go down to Manatee or Sarasota if worth it. Tampa...if not too far East is good also.
