It was at my friend's mother's house in Paris-zucchini soup, fresh white asparagus with hollandaise ; dessert was a selection of sorbets from Berthillon, washed down with Veuve Clicquot

dark chocolate martinis (no creamy stuff!) made with Ciroc vodka & always, French champagne.

My favorite comfort food:
mashed potatoes dripping with butter. When i was in Normandy, I noticed every table had ordered a small crock of mashed potatoes. When I asked the owner why they were so special, he told me they put 1/2 potatoes to 1/2 Normandy butter! Fabulous.
