Our Chowhound names go well together... |

I'm under 30! And have been participating in chowhound for most of my 20s. |

Office lunch catering in downtown Toronto - ideas? So good to hear!! Thanks for the follow-up :-) |

Sad to SEE [moved from Ontario] For me personally, it has become uninspired to post in this community. It seems like the only people who post are part of the same socioeconomic background in real life (many of them even go out for dinners with each other as well) and suggest the same restaurants again and again. And whenever there is an actually interesting, stimulating topic, it gets deleted by moderators almost immediately. I'd rather post on Yelp! where I can have whatever views I want without feeling chastised. |

L'Ouvrier - perfect level. |

Caplansky's- the emperor has NO clothes Keep in mind too, if you know they aren't going to go through due diligence (i.e. you're just going for publicity and not because you want a deal), you can say your profits are whatever you want them to be advertised as --- no one will hold it against you. |

I really liked the salads I've had at Museum Tavern. |

Sharing a steak in Toronto steakhouses Share away! I mean, they've had 56 oz steaks on the menu, I think....I know people who go in and just have a salad, they don't care. I think that as long as it's not an all-you-can-eat or buffet type restaurant, no restaurant cares if you share food. |

President's Choice Salted Toffee Cheesecake Lollipops They were okay; I didn't like how much the toffee bits crumbled off and made a mess, though. VERY sweet, and this is coming from someone who *loves* sweetness. |

makes me miss when *I* was a kid and Le Select was at its old location....and you could get the bread baskets with the rope pullies.... |
Well it seems like ylsf didn't know about them, and the staff doesn't direct bathroom traffic that way.....I certainly only found out by accident |
There are secret bathrooms on the street level.....but I'll never tell..... |
Definitely mention that when you make your reservation -- they love little details like that there. |

Which restaurants in TO make you feel the most welcome? Yeah, I was going to say Fran's, because I have never gotten such consistently cheery and welcoming service, or United Bakers. But those answers don't fit the expected responses for this thread. |

Any Word on Buca @ Four Seasons? I heard January |

Goody's Diner Update, August 29, 2012 I've used Noble Catering for years, but I've noticed some weird changes. Tina, who was with them forever, is gone, and now they have Chef Noble's wife? (I think) doing all the catering organization/planning. I wanted to plan a baby shower for my sister and had inquired about some menus; unfortunately due to logistics I had to cancel the shower. When Gwen contacted me asking if I did want to go ahead (I'd never booked anything, just asked to see some menus) and I said sadly the shower was cancelled, she basically yelled at me and asked me a million questions like, "How could you cancel a baby shower?" This seemed very off-putting and strange to me, especially since it could have been a horrible or personal reason why we had to cancel. It turned me off --- so sad, after years of great service and great product. |

Saturday Brunch with GF's Parents Harbord House, or White Brick Kitchen? |
Looking for a high end restaurant to celebrate 40th birthday (adults only) in September I'd say the private half-room at Jacobs and Co. |
White Brick Kitchen (Bloor and Euclid), Anyone been? Went for brunch at 12:30 pm on Sunday. Lots of tables open. Service was excellent (they let me take my Starbucks coffee in; I offered to toss it and he said it was ok!). Food was really, really good. Grilled cheese was delicious; but the stand-out for me was the warm, chocolate banana bread french toast drenched in caramel sauce. Would definitely go back. |

Relatively inexpensive places to eat near Toronto General Hospital I think that sandwich place is closed now.... |

Lunch on a Friday in or near The Distillery District Mangia and Bevi? |

RestoLounge recommendations for a Sat Night in Toronto Jacobs and Co piano lounge |

Went for a late brunch (1 pm) today with three girlfriends. Sat in one of the large circular booths, which was a great size for 4 people. I really enjoyed their coffee, and had a bellini as well (cinnamon and apricot - it was quite delicious). We had a basket of freshly baked goods to share (2 pieces each of lemon loaf, brioche, doughnuts and something else I can't recall) with pecan butter and homemade jam. For my main, I had steak and eggs. The fries were delicious, the steak was cooked properly. The service was friendly and efficient. It wasn't busy at all, could have been because it was so late in the day and no patio. Great experience all together and I'll be back. |

ROMANTIC ANNIVERSARY LUNCH DOWNTOWN Buca? |
Went tonight. The beef tartar was amazing. Really fresh, moist, delicious. Steak was good, love the salt sides. Oysters were great too. Duck fat fries were just meh; made better by dipping them in the blue cheese sauce that comes with the steak. Service was great as always! Had the frozen lemon torte (dessert special) and it was delicious; although I agree the main sides aren't very good I disagree with linengirl as I've never had a disappointing dessert. |

Dining out during passover (aka. without carbs) I'd go to a steak house - Jacobs, etc - and have steak, veggie sides, Caesar salad, etc. |
