My wife and I have tickets to a performance at the Calderwood Pavilion of the Boston Center for the Arts on October 27th. We are meeting old friends and were wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a restaurant that is a little quieter than the usual South End exuberant atmosphere. Any help would be appreciated. How can I find the delicious establishment?

My son and I have gotten bahn mi from Bahn Mi Ngon a few times and have loved them. Good quality, fresh ingresients make for a delicious sandwich.

I had one on Wednesday and decided next time to try rotating the container 180 degrees every so often to see if the sogginess is distributed the bottom wouldn't fall apart. Although, maybe that would make both sides of the bun disintegrate.

While I personally would welcome Happy Hour, one must admit that, from a public policy point of view, inviting people to consume double the alcohol between 4-7 pm and then driving home doesn't make much sense.

I was recently looking for a wine produced by Joe Bastianich tha I had at Babbo. I searched online until I found the importer, called them and got the name of the Mass. distributor, and called them to ask who carried the wine. They couldn't find anyone in the area but told me that any store that carries any of their wine could special order it. I talked to the wine guys at Marty's, theyordered me three bottles for about the same price that I picked it up for in Manhattan. Good luck.

We'll be staying three nights on South Shore Drive in South Yarmouth. We've got dinner plans for Thursday (PB Boulangerie) and Saturday (Inaho) but are looking to get interesting takeout on Friday night. Most visits we hit Thuan Loi but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for different, intersting takeout in the area. Thanks.

I got a take out menu when they first opened but hadn't had a chance to order until last week. My wife and I each ordered a kabob plate and I ordered a serving of soup. On my menu the kebab plates were in the $10.00 range. When I picked up the order the bill was $47.00! The kebab plates were, on the current menu over $17.00 apiece. Whilethe food was flavorful I felt it was wildly overpriced and will not return.

My wife just saw on one of her friend's facebook pages that Bourdain had lunch at Michael's Deli in Coolidge Corner.

My son just brought me a serving of Jalapeno Ice Cream from Christina's. It is delicious and revelatory. Somehow thay have captured the bright fresh flavor of a fresh jalapeno in a terrific ice cream. If it sounds appealing I would recommend it.
