Newport Beach: Palm Terrace Restaurant
The truffle mac and cheese at Palm Terrace is amazing, if you are into that sort of thing. The food is actually quite good for a hotel.
Sabatino's in the Lido Shipyard
Love this place for sausage, an amazing stuffed pepper and their tiramisu (which is out of this world). Their cheesecake is also dynamite. Don't bother with the fish (why some people do at a sausage place is beyond me). Service can be hit or miss, but the quality of their sausage dishes and a few desserts is always on par.

Quality is very good, on the weekends they have a buratta (giant piece) wrapped in warm proscuitto on a bed of greens that is amazing. Pizzas are also great. Yes, a bit pricey but a secret...(not sure if they still do this, so call ahead and check) If you give them your AAA card, they take 15% off the bill!
