Cheap cuts at St Lawrence Market? Chinatown?

Lucky Moose on Dundas at Huron, i find to be the best of the Chinatown butchers, they typically have pork roasts at reasonable prices. However they tend to be smaller roasts with most of the fat trimmed off.

If you want large chunks of pork I would suggest,

Still downtown if a bit out of your area, large pork cuts and usually cheaper then Chinatown

The Old Toronto Restaurants you make the wishes for the comeback

the Arkpit is what it said on the the sigh but all the regulars called it Nicks, on Eglington at Petman.

Simply the best hole in the wall diner that i have ever eaten at.

All day breakfasts and diner standards and on Friday night a 12 rib Prime rib cooked to perfection.

Domino's on the ground floor of the St. Lawrence Market carries a pretty good selection of nut flours, I have not seen acorn flour specifically but they have almond and chestnut and coconut flour in stock.

Visitng Downtown Toronto - Recommendations

You might consider a walking snacking tour of Kensington Market if the weather is good.

About a 10 minute walk from your hotel, just north and west of Dundas and Spadina.

Pupusas, empanadas, burritos, tortillas, burgers and a couple of good coffee shops.

Perhaps end up at Caplanskys for a Toronto smoked meat sandwich or other deli offerings.

Best ESPRESSO in Toronto

I like Sam James the shots and service are great.

Bisogno on Sherbourne is also very good and he has a rotating selection of SO coffee as well as two locally roasted blends.

Lit on College St. has a great roast but I find the shots inconsistent.

Rooster on Broadview is good but not great.

Bulldog has very average shots and I also have had enough problems with the service that I no longer go there.

Chinese Pork Shoulder VS St Lawrence Market Pork Shoulder... Worth the $$?

http://www.nossotalho.com/home.php

A great source for all things pork, last week I bought pork picnic shoulders for $0.69 per lb they had pork loins for $1.29 per pound.

Also a great source for Portuguese sausages and cheeses and bacalhau etc.
