Where to get fresh aji amarillo in near SF or Berkeley?

I'm planning to make some Peruvian style ceviche on Tuesday and I'm on the hunt for some fresh aji amarillo peppers. Does anyone know where one could acquire some? (preferably near Berkeley or San Francisco)

I know Mi Tierra in Berkeley carries jarred aji amarillos and a I've used those before but I find them a little lacking in the texture department.

Has anyone located fresh aji amarillo around town?

Visting SD This Weekend: I know where I'm drinking - But where should I eat?

Thank you all for the recommendations so far!

By popular demand Cocina de Maria will be added to the itinerary. The Blind Lady too. Other recs are still in the running.

And just a note - I'm coming in from San Francisco (in case that changes anything)

From the replies so far, it sounds like Mexican food is the local cuisine of San Diego. Are there any dishes (mexican, or otherwise) that are unique to the area? If so - where should I consume them?

I'll make sure to post a San Diego trip report once I return to SF. Thanks again for all of the advice.

Visting SD This Weekend: I know where I'm drinking - But where should I eat?

I'm meeting a friend from Boston on Sunday in San Diego to check out the beer scene. We've pretty much decided where we'll be drinking, but I've failed to plan our meals. Here's the itinerary:

Sunday - Escondido & Carlsbad
* Port Brewing/Lost Abbey
* Pizza Port - Carlsbad
* Stone Brewing

Monday & Tuesday - San Diego Proper
* Ballast Point Brewing
* Toronado San Diego
* Hamilton's

I was hoping you guys would be able to suggest some spots in the surrounding areas. I'd be most interested in San Diego specific eats (of which I'm only aware of Carne Asada Fries, I'm sure there's a lot more).

I'm excited to see where you guys send me! Thanks.

Best BBQ Brisket in the Bay?

I wanted to get your input for the first of hopefully many crawls based on specific dishes I'm setting up with some friends. I would love to hear who you folks think makes the best BBQ brisket in the bay.

My current favorite is by Uncle Frank's in Mountain View, but I'm hopeful that you guys will lead me to something even better!

Best Carnitas Taco in the Bay?

I wanted to get your input for the first of hopefully many crawls based on specific dishes I'm setting up with some friends. I would love to hear who you folks think makes the best carnitas taco in the bay area.

My current favorite is by La Taqueria in San Francisco, but I'm hopeful that their crown will be taken away by one of your recommendations.

Produce Delivery in San Francisco

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts bernalgirl. My housemates and I looked at all of the options you suggested and decided to go with Terra Firma Farms. We've just signed up for a month of medium boxes. I'm looking forward to having some great summer meals with the soon to be arriving produce. Thanks again.

Produce Delivery in San Francisco

I recently moved back to the bay area and I wanted to sign up for one of those newfangled produce delivery services.

Do you chowhounders have any recommendations? What's important to me:
* Seasonal Produce (I don't want my delivery service to be surprising me with gross Tomatoes in February)
* Yummy (I don't really care if it's organic if it tastes like cardboard)
* Local (If I wanted food from half-way across the world, I can just go down to the supermarket)

I have a house consisting of four working adults, and we spread our love amongst all fruits and vegetables so I don't foresee us needing to customize our deliveries much.

I look forward to your thoughts.

Where to get good Chicharrones?

My last meal on earth: a fresh, hand-made corn tortilla wrapped around some chicharrones with a sprinkling of squeezed lemon. Unfortunately I haven't been able to have this snack ever since I moved to Chicago nine months ago.

Can any of you recommend somewhere to get chicharrones with meat? I've found many of places to just get the outer skin (like Carnitas Urapan), but I'm looking for a place that also includes a layer of fat and some meat.

Please help a fellow food lover reunite with his death row meal.
