Why does this area have so much trouble attracting good restaurants .The demographics south of MB can support something very up scale >>?

To be clear ..got in right away.., but ,the time includes ordering,having a drink ,getting the dinner and eating ...After ordering waited about an hour to recieve the meal

The Potterhouse steak was the high lite .The sides were good but not great .The real Down side was the service was so SLOW and young ( ! hr 40 min ) that it made the meal painful. Was this just an aberration or is this the norn @ this joint ?
Another down side were mixed drinks were $9 !!!

A good stop in AP is Stella marina on the Boardwalk ,up scale Italian ,great wine list ,good service ,excellent food

I have gone to Luigi's many times and I have always been treated very well by Jenna .I will say Luigi's food has some great items and not so good stuff .Thier prices are reasonable and the portions are large . They will also alter a dish or make a dish if they have the ingrediants .The bar crowd is a little seedy ..

I finally did get a reply saying the because of the strong senior demographic many of the dishes must be make bland ,but they could jazz them up apon request ..I do not know if this makes sence
.I was told by a chef many years ago that if you want a good resturant you need exceptional food and to achive this the side dishes have to as good or better then the main item .I do not know if this place is willing to go the extra mile. Time will tell
NEW Three B's Bistro Lakehurst problem !!
Bistro 44 just lost the chef and is closing .I live in( North )Toms River and it is a real wasteland for good eateries .Three B's does have a limited number of good menu items ,but this place could be a gold mine if they just paid attention to detail and went tne extra mile !

I have been to this place an number of times since it opened and find the food good ,but not great .They seem to be content with ok main dishes with weak sides . The place is up scale ,nice crowd , with good service .but..The owner /manager is invisable to customers and is more interested in the paper work then to take care of customers' needs and requests . It is my understanding he has been in the resturant business before ,but he has never even said hello to me or my wife who have come to this place on a regular basis . I also tip well .. I have emailed them 3 times with my thoughts ,with no reply ..
The only reason we come back is It is really the only show in town in the Ocean county waste land of good eateries .
Has anyboby else had this type of problem and how did you reslove it ,without just stop freqenting the place

Why do we not have more (fine dinning) in Ocean County ,we loss Bisto 44 and the chef @ Atlantic Bar and grill left .Why will good chefs and up scale restaurants not take a chance in Ocean county ? this amazes me ,does anybody know why !

I spent a week one night @ Sammy/s in Mendum ,waited 2 hours for a ok steak about 15 years ago, have not been back to this mill since .Still would like to know if Root's had any roots with the old clothing store in Summit ? if you know ..

Try Bennen's .The prices are right and you get what you pay for .. I know of no better In monmouth or Ocean Co..The Manhattan Steakhouse (Ocean Twp )was the best but it is gone !

I am glad to see that the roast garlic is still a part of the bread basket ..That was always an high light to start the meal ..I am sure (hopfully) that they have kept other fan favorites that made this place what it is (was) !!

one sever @ CB Lakewood has the brass to say that there filet mignon is the same served @ Ruth's Chris . are they kidding ... There are NO good steakhouses in Ocean county and Long Horn is the only hope for a good piece of meat ..!

The Lakewood location is still do well ,but you can signs that the $ is not there ,no fish in the big fish tank ,limited # of booze bottles @ the bar and now some old brands not being replaced.. The intirior is dingy and needs a new rug or at least a good cleaning !

I guess .Chef Mike will give Daniels Bisto a run .I would have loved to have his place more inland because in the summer it is impossible to get to Beach !

3Bs Restaurant Lakehurst NJ
It looks like the owner(s) know the restaurant world ,but I have been in the place about 5 times and the owner(s) have been invisable .The one big dissapointment has been the meat loaf .It is a real lightwieght and misses the mark completely .Luigi's has it's steady crowd and should not impact on 3Bs.
Time will tell ,but my guess is that it will make it because the area really needs this type of joint ..

New place in Ocean County where good eateries are welcomed !
3B's has a menue the ranges from Sushi to pizza to Pot roast to Filet Mignon ..The interior is tastfully done with ample bar area and a large dinning room .The drinks and food are reasonably priced to meet with the senior community demographic that surport this venture .Most of the food choices are worth the money .The bar and wait staff are well trained and do a good job .
Has anybody else eaten there .What are your thoughts ?
