Sausage Gravy with Biscuits in Westchester?

Hudson Hil's in Cold Spring for gravy and biscuits would be worth the drive if you are closer than Tuckahoe. Plus, you can walk around and burn off the super rich gravy they serve. Must have atleast 2 sticks of butter per order. http://www.hudsonhils.com/

Eastchester Fish Gourmet

went there once and for the price, felt way out of line with what we got. My wife got salmon and I got surf and turf..i think... The wait staff could have been much better for what we paid. We are a young couple and the night we were there it seemed like this place is for an older crowd with bucks to burn for sub par food. I would put this on par with Old Stone Mill, but thats another story all together...

Would have rather saved the money and went into the city

Best Soft Serve Ice Cream in Long Island

oops :) merrick this, jerusalem that..its all the same after a while

Best Soft Serve Ice Cream in Long Island

Marshall's on Merrick Ave next to All American. I dont think I need to give any other details on location, etc. Check out the banana soft serve and get soem crushed peanuts, and a lbit of fudge inside the cone for a hand held banasplit-eque flavor explosion. Holy crap!

Finally, a good place for Thai on Long Island

no mention of Lemon Leaf either in Hicksville or Mineola? Maybe my taste is off, but I thought both have always been pretty good if you dont go with the westernized dishes and ask for other ideas.

PS. for the record, I hate queens food snobs. You are not that special.

Westchester Favorites

From the Tuckahoe Area:

Sushi -You can not go wrong with Kuzaku in Tuckahoe. No, it is not the best but is reliable time after time. Service tends to be good.

Italian - Mama Assunta - I dare anyone to say something bad about the food. Service is another matter all together on some nights. Lets keep this just about the food.

Deli - Bon Appettite - Sandwhiches for the price are not bad. Service we will say is.... interesting.

Pizza - Villagio - Seems close to what one would get from Bravo or Pronto in the city if you are just after a quick slice. Angelina's is not that great and most of the surrounding places are not worth the 10-15 drive.

Chinese Take Out - High Dragon in Bronxville. This is based on the consistency of the wonton soup and eggrolls. If any place can do this the same each time, it is a winner in my book for everything else.

Dinner - Central Park Ave Dinner. Hole in the wall but not bad. Cash only.

Mexican - Blue Moon takes over as our go to place since Burrito Poblano closed down. I dont know why this is knocked on this board.

Burgers: Everything seems to burn down around here. Station House of Bronxville was not bad.

Breakfast: Central Park Avenue Dinner.

Indian: Bengal Tiger. It is so worth the drive every time

Bagels: Eastchester Bagel Cafe. Its not close to Bageltown of Levittown, but not bad for the area.

Dont Like

Tap House, Old Stone Mill, Eastshester Fish Gourmet, Azuma, Kittle House,

Runner Up's: Pipers Kilt, Crestwood Pizza, Patang, Mont Olympus, Opus 465

Best Traditional Diner in Westchester

My favorite diner in lower westchester is probably the most hidden one you can possible find and you may have driven past it a thousand times on Central Park Ave without even knowing it. The name is Central Plaza Diner and it is located at 1686 Central Park Ave.. It is in a small strip mall and is on the corner. near the entrance to tuckahoe road and 100.

Everything is good there, especially the breakfast menu. When you walk in, you will think there is no way you are in 2008 anylonger. This is a CASH only establishment. It is usually packed during normal eating hours and you may have to wait for a table -but is well worth the wait.
