Lotus of Siam: Still wonderful but...

If you go to Lers Ros in SF, make sure to go to the original on Larkin St in the Tenderloin. They now have two other locations but those have a more limited americanized menu and dumbed-down flavors.

Tips for solo dining in Vienna

I'm traveling solo to Vienna for the first time this May and was wondering if anyone had any tips for dining alone. Is there a culture of dining alone there? Is it common to eat at the bar in restaurants? Will restaurants take a reservation for one? Are there particular places you'd recommend for a solo diner? (I already saw the recommendations at http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/876323). Thanks for the help!

Eel in Atlanta?

Thanks for the recommendations! I found live eel at the Buford highway farmers market, along with lots of other fun stuff

Eel in Atlanta?

San Francisco hound visiting family in Atlanta for Xmas. I want to cook eel for Xmas dinner, but my family members who live in Atlanta don't know where to find it. Any ideas? Saltwater or freshwater will both work. I'll be in midtown but with access to a car so I can get anywhere. Thanks in advance for the help!

Restaurants near WalMart - Bentonville, Arkansas

I have to disagree about Doe's Eat Place. I had an inedibly awful meal there a couple of weeks ago. The sides consisted of canned green beans and canned mushrooms. The biscuits were some kind of pre-made Pillsbury-like biscuit dough that was deep fried. And the dessert was frozen Sara Lee (or similar) cheesecake with Hershey's syrup on top. For the prices they charge I expect them to do more than open a can and dump it on the plate. The steaks and tamales are fine, but the rest of it isn't even real food.
