Dim Sum in Detroit area
Who’s got the best Dim Sum available in the Metro Detroit area? Any restaurants serving from a dim sum cart? Saw a posting from last year, but wanted to know about any recommendations for Shangri-La in W. Bloomfield.

China Cafe is outstanding. Make sure to try the lettuce wrap appitizer.

Vincente’s Cuban Cusine. Located at Library and Grand River, not far from Ford field. One of the best meals you’ll ever have. Must try their Sangria!

DTW: Korean within 10 miles of Dearborn
Didn’t check on the mileage, but you should try the New Seoul Garden a telegraph and eleven mile. Excellent Korean food. The lunchbox specials are very good and reasonable, if you have more time or for dinner get the full Korean BBQ, it’s a great experience!

Just as easy, would be to hop on the People Mover, much easier to catch than a cab!

Fatburger in Detroit [moved from Midwest board]
Amen, to getting a Chick-Fil-A!!! Why can’t we get one here? I looked into a Sonic franchise, and they are not even offering one in southern Michigan. I hadn’t checked on Chick-Fil-A yet, but will certainly do that. That’s one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had!
So, what did you make this weekend?
Saturday am went to Eastern Market in Detroit and picked up two slabs of pork ribs that were butchered that AM. Got my rib rack from the BBQ and slow roasted them with a dry rub and apple juice in the pan for moisture. 300 degrees for 2 hours then another 30 minutes with sauce, feel off the bone!!! Served with redskin potatoes and grilled asperagus all from the market. Felt almost like summer!!!

Anybody have any comments on the Fly Trap Restaurant. It was featured recently on Food Networks “Diners, Drive-ins & Dives”. Looked pretty interesting!
Valentines day in Detroit area
For a great dining experience, try the Melting Pot, Nothing really special about the food, but there is plenty of it and it is a fun outing. The full course will take you about 1 1/2 hours. Great wine selection and they will even hook you up with roses for that someone special. Lots of fun!
Detroit area--chicken, lemon, and rice soup
You’ve got to try the lemon rice soup at Leo’s Coney Island at Schoolcraft and Middlebelt, near the Home Depot. While you’re at it order the Spinach Pie, grilled, with a side of Tzatziki Sauce. Both are homemade by the owner! Other Leo’s have it but this is the best around.
