Red Beans and Rice, Roast Beef Po Boys, and Olivier's

The last time I was in New Orleans, I ate red beans and rice at several well known restaurants. Without question the Gumbo shop had the very best red beans and rice!

Is there anyplace in New Orleans to buy great sausage & Andouille? >>>

I will be in New Orleans for the French Quarter Festival and I do not want to drive to Jacob’s on my way back home.

Thanks for your input,
Charlie

Disappointed at Dick & Jenny's

Hi,
A friend and I just ate at Dick & Jenny's last Thursday. I found the food and the service excellent. I would also like to note, I have been to D & J many times before it was sold. Maybe you just hit them on a bad night.

Has anyone successfully cooked Risotto in their rice cooker?

Hi,
I was wondering if a simple Risotto, using Arborio rice, can be made in a rice cooker.
Thanks,
Charlie

Good Rice Cooker for small amounts of rice.

What rice cooker do you think is the best for cooking small amounts of rice,
and it has to be easy to clean.

Thanks for your replies,
Charlie

Which color for Le Creuset gumbo pan?

Hi,
I am going to buy a Le Creuset risotto pot for making gumbo. The colors have made me crazy. I lean towards red, because to me it seems to be a New Orleans color, but cream white seems best for presentation. Any thoughts on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gumbo Guy.
